NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 http://thehockeynews.com/articles/29880-NH...ty-minutes.html He's getting four games for the incident with Bradley, after getting called for cross-checking, instigating, fighting, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct. I think that four games is excessive. Bradley had dropped/was dropping his gloves, Carcillo hasn't had any disciplinary problems before (bar putting up lots of PIMs), and he and his team were already punished by the penalties he got in the game. If the Walker-Ward incident didn't result in a suspension, why should this? Oh wait. It's the NHL. And I'm biased.
Guest Lidstromboli Report post Posted December 6, 2009 i think game misconduct was enough discipline
Carman 387 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Not a smart play by Carcillo. But 4 games is a little much. Not to mention that he already cost them a game with a 9 minute powerplay.
Guest micah Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Four ******* games!?! Darren McCarty is idolized around here for doing far worse to Claude Lemioux (though Mac apparently couldn't hit as hard as Carcillo). Garbage. The 9 minute powerplay the Caps recived was excessive. This suspension is absolute bulls***.
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Yup, sucker punches don't get anything in the playoffs for some reason. Carcillo does have one suspension at least under his blotter for that butt-end thing in the playopffs last year, which I'm sure had some influence. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hnicplayof...s_over_the.html I don't think it's worth four games. But that said, this kind of crap makes me lose any respect I would have had for Carcillo.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 I hope to God one of our players would do that to Pronger or Iginla. People around fight sites have mixed opinions on whether this was a suckerpunch or not, but the suspension is definitely surprising.
cjm502 165 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 4 games is BS.
vOrophin 5 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 I can see then trying to eliminate the stuff like the cross checks before the fight, but that's what penalties are for, right? Suspending someone because they are a good fighter/they KO'd someone with 1 punch?
jollymania 162 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) nowhere near the walker inceident, bradley had his gloves off, the 9 min pp was enough already, but it should have jsut been 2 for crosschecking 5 for fighting, instigator, and give bradley a double minor for roughing Edited December 6, 2009 by jollymania
Datsyuk2Zetterberg 1 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 BS suspension. Buttman and Campbell are such inconsistent f***s.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) since it's impossible for Campbell to give entire Flyers roster an automatic 82-game suspension I'll take whatever he hands to this bunch of talentless goons. the less we see them the better. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Excessive, but then again that's how Campbell does his job-- excessive suspensions for the average player and no suspension or a light suspension for star players. The rule book is applied based on your point per game average.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 I think 4 games is much but he's asking to be suspended by throwing out sucker-punches.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Excessive suspension, though Carcillo pulled a Tootoo in that fight. So much for squaring up. I'm so sick of guys picking fights after good clean checks though, combined with the Tootoo suckerpunch, I can't say I'm too sad about this one.
Zion 93 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 f*** Carcillo. I'm just fine with this suspension. Throw Pronger a few games while we're at it...
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 It was awesome. Too bad he game was so lopsider so it didnt really develop any animosity. 4 games is alot, you know Bradley was gonna drop the mitts if he had a chance.
zata40 3 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Wow...4 games? that's a bit much. The long penalty time given to the caps I can understand. The fact that the caps didn't get a penalty called on them i can understand, bradley's glove wasn't off long so the refs could have easily not seen they both agreed to fight. Was it a sucker punch, yeah. But only by a few seconds. The suspension is not far. From what I seen from that vid is carcillo just punched a few seconds to fast. Yes it was cheap, but only cheap enough for a penalty, not a suspension.
Free_Candy 38 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) I thought the length of the suspension was ridiculous. And I can't even stand Carcillo or the Flyers. Edited December 6, 2009 by Free_Candy
action jackson 6 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) wow, what a bomb by carcillo 4 games are justified, because there was no squaring up, Bradleys gloves were still flying, when Carcillo suckerpunched him Edited December 6, 2009 by action jackson

Zion 93 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 Malkin beat up Zetterberg, Semin-style. That makes him a hero in Gary Bettman's eyes (see World of Warcraft "Hero Class"), so he cannot be suspended. See flow chart.

Talentless goons? They have a lot of talent on their team. I wish our star players had some of the grit their top guys have.
