BigWinston 15 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 I just don't get it. How many more injuries can we get in one 2 month spell. I'd struggle to believe there's a more banged up team than the wings in any sport, any league, anywhere in the world right now.

seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Wow... I think separations can be pretty tricky, too. 4 weeks could easily be longer. I curse the hockey gods. I'm now convinced this is all a practical joke.
Wingnut in WA 86 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Man this topic seems to be getting no attention. I guess the way this season has been going were just getting used to having our best players get hurt.

mmamolo 287 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 This is just unreal. I can't remember a year where we've even come close to having this much trouble with injuries. Ideally we're getting all of our injuries out of the way now...as opposed to spring time

I'd struggle to believe there's a more banged up team than the wings in any sport, any league, anywhere in the world right now. Although still not quite as bad as Feb 2008 when we had 10 starters out injured, including our top-4 D. Unsurprisingly we were terrible then too.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Horrible news. He wasn't exactly racking up points, but right now we can't afford to lose more people. The playoffs are looking more meek as time goes by. Last night I gave us a 50/50 chance of making it, and now I think it's even worse than that. F*** you hockey gods!!! Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 I think I'm jumping on the "need moar enforcerz" bandwagon. Since this team has no chance of winning, I'd rather we beat every single team to a pulp for moral victories.

Since this team has no chance of winning, I'd rather we beat every single team to a pulp for moral victories. Finally you start making some damn sense. We have a North American team now, and I was disappointed that no one tried to retaliate for Cleary's injury yesterday after the buzzer sounded.

How long do I have to watch hockey before I see someone take a stick and swing it at Jackman's ugly ass face? I've hated that ***** spotpicker ever since he entered the NHL. StormJH1 231 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Unfreakinbelievable. The only thing that hasn't happened is an injury to Datsyuk, Zetterberg, or Lidstrom...but to make things worse, none of those 3 is playing anywhere close to their usual selves! This is the worst part of salary cap hockey--there's nothing Holland can do. We can't even fill out a roster, let alone "buy our way out of the problem" b/c all those contracts are coming back later in the year. I can't believe we were in Game 7 in June and now there's guys on our 2nd line who couldn't even crack our 4th line last year. I would seriously be relieved and happy for this team just to make the playoffs right now. We are in BIG trouble if you understand how the NHL points system works. The teams ahead of us can pretty much fend us off just by making it to overtime a bunch of games.

Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 How many players on other teams have we injured in head to head play? This s*** seems to go one way only. My guestimation would say 2. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 If ever a team had all the cards stacked against it, it has to be this years' Detroit Red Wings. If/when they pull through and make the postseason, it proves more than most realize.
