Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 He's coming around. He's seen the performance of his best players this year and he thinks that they need to play alongside a handful of guys who are willing to do anything, including take a few Bissonette punches to the beak, to spark the team. That's what he said the other day on the radio on this one station. You probably missed it. I'm surprised he didn't already "know" this when he had rosters of "rock'em sock'em" hockey players on previous rosters. Anyone have a link to this radio station? Guest micah Report post Posted December 15, 2009 I'm surprised he didn't already "know" this when he had rosters of "rock'em sock'em" hockey players on previous rosters. He forgot for a while. Anyone have a link to this radio station? It was a pirate radio broadcast of an interview I personally conducted over some scotch w/ my pal Kenny Holland. Many of us here know aboutr the radio station, but we can't really talk about it, you know? In real life, I'm a lot like Christian Slater in Pump Up The Volume. Partly because I have a rad pirate radio station, and partly because I spend a fair amount of time making out with quirky half-hot barely legal chicks in my parents' backyard. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 This is absolutely in direct relation to Ville Leino, which is why Newbury wasn't called up when Leino was benched. Instead being called up when Helm got injured.

Carman 387 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 Like Newbury tonight. Provided good energy, chipped in a goal. The penalties are understandable with not playing in the NHL for awhile.
themule0932 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 I was very pleased with the way that Newbury played tonight. The two penalties against him were horrible calls and the tip-in from Drapes was very nice. It also seems like he logged a lot of minutes tonight (for a person in his position). hoogs 8 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 Good for him that he got a goal, but he looked weak on the defensive end..........especially on the goal play. He left his man WIDE Open in front of the net and scrambled to recover too late, the Wings are lucky the Yotes didn't score right before the Wings got their first goal. He has to be more aware in the defensive end

The Secret 304 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 Sad that Helm had to get bitten by the injury bug also and I hope he heals fast and gets back to playing but on the positive side I liked what Newbury did with his time and hope he can keep providing that energy and spark while he's in.... Nice job Newbie, keep it up!

Rick Zombos Ghost 82 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 he was looking pretty lost in our end (like literrally skating back and forth behind howard). led to sustained pressure on us during his few shifts. he was in the place at the right time on his goal.
