Travis 576 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 So Lilja to GR for conditioning first I'm assuming? He can't be much better than Meech or Lebda having been out for almost a year now... On a personal level, I would love to see that. For the team, though, the sooner the better.

elriqo28 2 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 I posted this in the other thread. Awesome just awesome!! I really hope they don't trade Leino. I'd like to keep him around at least till next year. I really see May being waived or sent down instead of Meech or Lenio like the MLive reports speculates. Abs and May will be sent down. A trade will likely happen, most likely, it will be Meech or Leino or both, for picks.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Somewhere in Fargo ND, 55Fan is smiling You know it! Even if Kronner can't lay the big hits right away, he is still improving his hockey sense and is learning not to make the dumb plays that come with being a rookie (see JonE- I'm sure he'll outgrow them too). Kronner's offensive abilities will boost the PP, and if he can keep up his defensive play on the PK, I'm more than willing to wait to see more of the KRONWALLED! type hits. Lilja- wow. I'm moist. I had almost given up hope for him. Good to see the rest of the guys coming back too.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted January 25, 2010 Looks like the injury era for this season is finally coming to a close. And with the Wings breathing down a playoff spot's back I guess we can say that they succeeded in their 1st half mission of keeping close with the pack until everyone gets healthy. WMUCarGuy 8 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 The big question is, if Lilja returns, does that mean Ericsson gets sent down, or does Lebda get put on waivers?
ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Do be honest, I think Meech deserves a roster spot over Ericsson AND Lebda.
rage 24 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Do be honest, I think Meech deserves a roster spot over Ericsson AND Lebda. Yeah, they should keep Meech for sure. And I think they will. The Wings' have always been big on Defensive depth. They'll trim a forward like May before Meech IMO. And I do agree w/ the above poster that quoted me. They will send down Abs and probably May as well until the Playoffs. But I do not agree that they will trade Lenio and Meech. No way.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Do be honest, I think Meech deserves a roster spot over Ericsson AND Lebda. I agree. Although I think E deserves to keep playing, especially on a pairing with someone other than Lebda. Ericsson is still learning the game (first full regular season) -- Lebda has plenty of experience and we all know what he is capable of (not much, unless turnovers and getting caught up ice count). I actually think Meech has been quite solid. All you really want is to not notice a player like him and he's doing his job well filling in with Stuart. I notice E and Lebda EVERY time they step on the ice for the wrong reasons. Lebda has to go. He is that BAD even for a bottom pairing d-man.

As for the trade thing, the only other person I see them trading would be lebda. Problem is he has more experience and is faster than Meech so it will probably be Meech before Lebda...unfortunately. skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 I have a feeling that May would be gone before Leino or Meech. He's older and has been here to be an enforcer and hasn't done that much in the games he's been in. I think the coaching staff is still trying to figure out if Leino can cut it on the team and Meech has been somewhat valuable.
dropkickshanahans 463 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Well this is cool, I get to see Kronwall play when I go to the game. Hopefully he kickstarts our PP.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Trade Leino now!!!! a 4th round pick sounds right. He totally does not play our system, and has been awful in our last losses. I don't know why Babcock replaced Miller with him. I really don't. Get rid of him now before you have to put him on waviers. Meech at least could play the team style. Rivalred 630 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Maybe BabCOCK is playing Leino so other teams sees what he has to offer and then he will be traded...

hooon 1,089 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 One or both of Lebda/Meech simply has to go. Like a few others have said, I'd rather keep Meech... but if Lilja is definately back I wouldn't care if they both get sent out. I love May but I think he is the obvious choice to go, and Abby will get sent down. I think the wings will keep Leino for another year and then see where he is at. Not sure where this puts us cap wise... If we shed Lebda, Meech, May, and send Abby down... we would be close to fitting under cap, but might need to shed one more player. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 I'd rather keep Meech as well. Since we won't be doing any trades, I imagine Lebda and/or May (if we need to clear more space, I haven't crunched the numbers) will be let go. I feel bad letting May go, he's been good for us, but we've got to make room somehow and Miller has just proven too valuable.
