GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 I didn't know either of them was a Pole? I'd actually give Ozzie the next start, just to get him more reps so to speak. He can't be that bad two nights in a row.
ilmickeyli 40 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) He can't be that bad two nights in a row. GMR, you can't really believe that -- can you? Edited January 29, 2010 by ilmickeyli
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) GMR, you can't really believe that -- can you? Well, they aren't going to give Howard the next 30 starts in a row. They need to keep both goalies in rhythm somehow. If they sit Ozzie the next 3 weeks, and then play him all of sudden in one game, I guarantee you he'll suck again. They need to see what he can do over a period of games. Not once a month. Edited January 29, 2010 by GMRwings1983

I definitely agree with you 100%, it's just right now I feel is a huge crossing point for the season and I'm apprehensive to have ozzie in net -- but it would be for the better if he was in (and got a W).. But as we know, Howard will play.
Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Both goalies should be playing in some sort of rotation that makes sense.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Lilja has a much better form than either of them. As long as we wrap his head in bubble wrap he should be okay.

Rubbel_die_Katz 24 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Difficult to tell. I believe there has to be a rotation - i believe Howard can not play 30 games in a row (and give us enough points) and Osgood can not play well if he just starts once in a while. A lot of pressure, Howard plays well but he also were not able to give us points lately (-> with a bad D) The question is: Which combination can give us the most points (we need desperately). -> Howard playing 30 games? -> it is a risk, can he be the goaile for >30< Games to give us points? What if he burns out? -> give Ozzy some stars now -> it is a risk - if he will suck, we are losing more points, if he will play well -> we can rotate!!! It is the question, at which point we are going to take the risk - Take the risk later: Start Howard now- are we going to burden this way to a rookie (who played well). If this is not going to work -> Osgood has to play "cold" again (-> losing points later in season at a more critical point) - Take the risk now: Start Osgood now -> We might get two goailes and we can rotate. I would say, take the risk now, start Ozzie - we have pressure right now but pressure will be higher in a few weeks -> not a good time to take the risk. Imagine we have two goalies (one burned out, one cold) and the next lost could lead to the golf course. ________________________________________ AND PLEASE: D has to play better Edited January 29, 2010 by Rubbel_die_Katz

hankzet40 233 Report post Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Why can't they just do like they did with Ozzie/Conks and Ozzie/Dom? Granted, the quality of the current tandem isn't nearly as good as the previous two but it wouldn't hurt to try at this point.
