Coupla clerical notes here for you guys.

Your lines for us are correct, except that Wade Belak is out with what I believe is a deep bruise on his foot, so slide Andreas Thuresson in his spot. There is a small chance Joel Ward could play and if he does, Thuresson would be the scratch.

Also, while we don't know who is going to get the call tonight, I'd be surprised if Pekka Rinne did. He looked pretty bad against Columbus.

Jason Arnott is ice-cold right now, with no goals in (IIRC) 16 games. On the flip side, though, Patric Hornqvist is tearing it up. His ticket to success has been, among other things, watching video of Tomas Holmstrom, so thanks, lol.

Cody Franson has really come on offensively this year and is a mainstay on the power play, which has improved since we last met. Most of the time the strategy is just drop it back to Weber or Franson and get the hell out of the way.

Good luck tonight, not too much, of course. Its been a rough week after we destroyed Western Canada. It'd be great to get off the schneid but I'm skeptical.

Wings 2, Preds 1.

Rafalski, Bertuzzi - Dumont

OP, Williams is also out for sure and Stuart might be out.

Nashville has 2 points and a game in hand against us. Win it in regulation for once boys!

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Detroit Red Wings' Jason Williams, out since Nov. 7 with a fractured fibula, might return to the lineup Friday against Nashville.

"I'll play Friday if the doctors and everybody say it's OK,'' the right winger said.

Tomas Holmstrom skated for an hour Wednesday morning, his first extensive on-ice workout since he suffered a hairline fracture in his foot Jan. 6. He said he likely won't play Friday, saying Sunday at Pittsburgh is more likely.

"X-rays (on Tuesday) showed it's building calcium and building bone around the crack, so that's a good sign,'' Holmstrom said. "I'm ahead of schedule.''

Defenseman Andreas Lilja (concussion) said he hopes to meet with team doctors, management and his agent Thursday to determine when he can be cleared to play, or at least determine the next step in the process.

Leino-Filppula-Williams?

If Leino is in tonight, I hope he does his best to kick the s*** out of Jordin Tootoo. I mean, they're about the same size - Jordin has 10lbs on Leino but Leino has 3" and presumably some reach on Tootoo. Leino has to know that people have been dogging him for looking like he doesn't care. Leino also likely knows that Tootoo has been a thorn in the Wings' side for years. Here's Leino's big chance to show the team that his heart doesn't pump KoolAid, that he isn't a coward, that he does care, that he isn't a weakling, that he deserves to wear that winged wheel.

Go get him, killer!

what are the lines going to look like? is Williams going to be on the 2nd line?

Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Cleary

Bertuzzi, Filppula, Williams

Draper Helm Eaves

Leino, Abdelkader, Miller

?

that doesnt look too bad to me

Certainly better than the lines they were putting out in December.

Despite being direct competitors tonight, welcome to the board. I gotta say man, Hornqvist has been a beast. 20+ goals and 30+ pts in about 50 games for a whopping 700k is outrageous. I've been equally impressed with Franson. Granted his last name makes me think he's a poor man's version of Johan, he's still looking solid.

Tonight should be a sweet game to watch. Ideally the Wings pull it out but for that to happen our D needs to retighten.

Wings 3 - Pred 2

Datsyuk, Bertuzzi, Lidstrom - Hornqvist, Weber

Immediately before leaving the crease at the end of the first period, Jimmy will pull out a jar of mayonaise that he has had stashed in his pads and lube up the inside of the posts. During the second period, all Red Wings shots that hit the post will slide right in. Immediately before the start of the third, Jimmy will remove the mayo.

Red Wings win 6-2. All Wings goals come in the second period.

After the game, officials attempt to question Howard about the white residue on his jersey, but he eludes detection by claiming that victories are so rare nowdays that he was just over-excited.

So I have decided that the Wings are in need of some luck and by luck I mean me. I haven't really posted on these boards like I used to for quite some time so I am going to attribute them losing to my lack of being here. I APOLOGIZE, FOLKS. Tis okay though cause I am back (will try to be for the most part) and the WINS are coming!

BTW, I feel a blowout tonight. Maybe 6 or 7 goals by the almighty in Red & White.

LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say enforcers have any more heart than scorers.

I was tralking about Leino. Neither "scorer" not "enforcer" are really appropriate terms.

I think that both scorers and enforcers have more heart than disinterested floaters.

not sure if im that excited with williams coming back. we've been playing really bad in our own zone, not covering people. williams isn't exactly known for his defense. it just seems our play in our own has slipped alarmingly recently, it almost seems we have taken it for granted now that we are getting guys back
