clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 The team in itself doesn't know how to perform in the post-season. Whether you blame the goaltending, veteran presence, coaching, or what. The team in general can't win. Up to now. Though from their perspective tonight it had to be nice to see big bird crashing the net for once.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Okay so your belief is that if you don't win the cup then you are choking. Got it. If we are talking about the sharks and the talent they have had, well...um..yeah.
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Great night boys! Didn't watch the game but just checked boxscore. I'm feeling pretty good if we make it to 8th spot and San Jose takes 1st

The team in general can't win. Joe Thornton is essentially a completely different player in the post-season. He was that way under Wilson as well as T-Mac, I doubt its a coaching issue. RedWings Gone Wild 6 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 You guys are nutts. Nabokov is a phenomenal goalie, and he's played very well for them in the playoffs. Nabokov's GAA and SV% are both better in the playoffs, unlike Thornton and Marleau points totals, which decrease in the playoffs. He's also played extremely well for Russia in the World Championships and Olympics.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Watched the game this morning, awesome stuff. Apart from the first 10 minutes the Wings played pretty good. They always seem to show up against the Sharks, I think it'd be a good idea to stick around in 7th/8th spot so we get to face them in the 1st round. Howard was solid as usual, Hank/Pav looked like they were having fun, Homer was awesome.. Shame everyone else in the West either won or got a point ... Firehawk 305 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Boy it was tough getting up for work this morning, but worth it. I almost turned it off after we went down 2-0. Had we not gotten a goal in the first, I would have probably went to bed. Turns out we went into the intermission tied! Anyway, the wings got up for SJ. I hope they do the same against Anaheim. Here's a great chance to climb into the standings and start securing a spot in the playoffs. Tonight's game will be tough, but LA on Saturday looks like what is shaping up to be a great game. I hope the wings can get on a little win streak here. Anaheim and LA are both beatable despite LA's crazy road success lately (I thought they were gonna go 500 at best on their road trip). Maybe we can catch LA slacking off on their first home game back from that trip. St. Louis is a must win, and the most attainable win in the next 3 games. If we could come out of this road trip 4-0-1 I think we can start to put a couple games distance between being in the playoffs and not being in the playoffs. On another note, I'm really getting sick of having a great night and winning against a good team, and then every other team around us wins their game. Why can't they all lose? Sheesh. Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 i think the sharks can make a good cup run if they acquire some grizzled veterans like Ville Leino and Brett Lebda at the trade deadlineSharks are actually the only team who take Lebda and Leino when I trade or waive them in NHL Be a GM -mode. I think I got something like 1st, 4th and 5th round picks trading Lebda to Sharks.

robb himself 143 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 I believe these were the combos I could see out there... Opie 308 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 The Wings played a good game, but the Sharks played like sh**. If I'm a Sharks fan, I'm concerned. They've done this in games against good opponents all season, and it looks a lot like what happens to them in the playoffs every year. The Wings had more time and space than I've seen in a long time. The Sharks gave them a ton of room to shoot. If I were a shark's fan I would be used to the feeling that eventually every year the Summer comes and every year my team looks like a contender, right up until the second round! If they have to face Detroit or Chicago at some point, I don't see them getting past either. Chicago looks scary.
EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Also FSN-D did pick of EuroTwin from LGW and another dude, wearing home Z and Pavel jerseys? like after the 1st or 2nd goal right? That might have been us! I did have my home Pavel jersey on and my boyfriend did have his home Zata jersey on. They didn't show us at all in the Sharks broadcast which I fast-forwarded through this morning just because I could. I had a really great time at the game. Most of the Sharks fans were fun, classy, smart people, and the tons of other Wings fans there were very cool too. I saw a variety of Wings jerseys there. Of course the Yzerman/Lids/Zata/Dats jerseys, but I also saw a Cleary, a Murphy a JOSEPH a couple Homers, a Hull... it was a good showing. There was this really old guy, must have been about 80 or so, walking with a cane, kind of permanently hunched over, there in his Wings jersey and hat, with a middle-aged couple (in Sharks jerseys), crossing the street at super speed, talking about what a great game it was. The couple was like. Yes. Great Game. :| Old Dude was awesome.

I was a season ticket holder their first season and the fans were less than stellar. The last two years he had .890 and .907 which are not so great. He had 2 great playoff years, 2007 he was at .920 and 2004 he was .935. Conclusion - he's up and down.
