Eh, I didn't miss him when he left, and could give two s***s whether or not he came back. I do know that I don't want him on this team.

As usual, it'd depend on the money. He sometimes doesn't backcheck overly hard but I think it's ok if we have one guy who doesn't so long as he produces offense. Not every single last player needs to be a Selke type player. As long as it doesn't infect anyone else with that style of play./

For around 3-4 mil, welcome to the family. Anymore more and it'd have to be a quick 1 year deal if we can afford it. If it'd in any way disrupt the team, no thanks. But if not, why not give it some thought? He's a great sportsman, a great teammate who will always be a good locker room guy and he's still one of the most dominating players around, especially when he's truly driven.

Are you kidding? I would honestly say that Jagr is about as good as Zetterberg RIGHT now. Anyone who doesn't want Jagr is crazy, he's one of the top 5 forwards of the last 2 decades. He's a force. For 3-4 million a season, he would be a STEAL.

Zackmorris has a point. He's not a great defensive forward, but for his offensive skills, I think it'd be okay to have one player on the team that isn't Selke-caliber. We badly need someone who can make things happen, and Jagr has always been able to do that.

For under 3.5 I'd pull the trigger for a year or two.

I wonder if Jagr would come back for the money, or for a shot at another cup? I think you guys are crazy for suggesting that he will take 3-4 mil per year. Maybe if he really wants to win a cup, but I suspect he will be like most east/central Europeans and go for the cash. Can't blame him really.

Do you read what you post beforhand? Do you realize that you come across as just another bigot? This is an old argument hereabouts, but still, do you really need me to draw you a list of North American players who do the same thing? Really...

Some people would call Jagr the best European-born NHL player of all time (not any 'Wings fans, of course). A finalist for the Hart trophy six times (won one), three Pearsons, five Art Ross trophies, two Cups, the second-most game winning goals of all time, ninth all-time in points, and twelfth all-time in goals.

With that said, you've got to take a look at what he's done lately, and his NHL totals certainly deteriorated by the time he left, though his playoff stats have always been good (and remained impressive, even in his last NHL season). Since leaving, he's continued to be a point per game player, though in a weaker league. I'd be willing to take a chance on him for $4M/1 year contract. Who else are we going to sign to make up some offense, and what do we really have to lose on a one-year contract?

no f*** jagr.

although, I wouldn't mind if zetterberg, lidstrom, franzen, kronwall convinced forsberg to come play for the wings.

how can you say that after all the injuries we've had to put up with this season?

I'd take jagr in a heartbeat.

I'm with you. Z and Forsberg seem to have some good chemistry going at the Olympics.

Pavel can convince Feds to come back for one more year. And Fil can talk Selanne into ending his career with the Wings..

cus jagr is a lazy f***, who only plays when he wants to.

I'm not saying saying empty out the bank account for forsberg, but if he would be willing to take a pay cut, he and Z have had great chemistry, and if not for hornqvist they would probably be near the top in points for the tournament.

that said of course forsberg is an injury risk, but still he almost always seems to put up at least PPG numbers.

maybe. but the 4 wings have the advantage of peer pressuring foppa, pavs and fil don't. :hehe:

Bleh... I'd take Jagr over Floppa in a heartbeat. Floppa is too fragile and too far removed from the game, imo.

Here we see again blind "video game GM" thinking. There is more to a decision on a player than just his stats.

Jagr is a lockerroom cancer, is often lazy, and in general often has a bad attitude.

Haha. Best lineup in the world.

Fedorov-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Forsberg-Zetterberg-Franzen

Cleary-Filppula-Selanne

Draper-Helm-Eaves

But he is a legend who makes any team better right away
