Barrie 900 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 What Howard did was cool but at some point Hank's gonna have to take care of s*** like this himself. Maybe in a playoff game and you want the extra man you don't engage but last night was the end of the game. Do yourself a favor Z and clock him when he pulls that, he may reconsider the next time you bunch his panties up. Just my 2cents, your mileage may vary. Crosby probably knows if Z takes a swing, Z get's punished, not him. It's better if Z doesn't do anything and his team backs him up, which is what happened. Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Because crosschecks in front of the net never happen in hockey, correct? They don't happen that often when it is a single player seeking out a player who was defending against him all game and proceeding to crosscheck that player multiple times in the back, attempting to punch in the back of the head, then after the game (once again when the victim has done nothing to the player and is about to skate away) crosschecking that same player in the face. Not the first time Crosby has sought out Zetterberg in stupid frustration. And this is coming from a guy who thinks Crosby gets way too much flak and attention around here. sdwingsfan1971 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 I was kind of wondering where are the crybaby Cindy appologists are that always crack down on everyone if they ever say anything bad about poor Cindy on this site. Might they finally be realizing what a complete tool he is.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 IF!!!! Howie get suspended for THAT!! I will NEVER watch another NHL again!! I will be 100% done! If they want to market a little ***** and suspend anyone who sticks up for his team and himself, then they can have it! There is a reason why many superstars are going back to Europe! Oh yeah, and there is also another reason why thr ratings for the NHL are where they are too! Bloated, tax-free contracts?
henrik40 76 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 I'm about 99.999% positive that Jimmy wouldn't be suspended for his face wash. Guaranteed that was just some nonsense started by some fool. I mean honestly, you'd have to start suspending guys any time there is a face wash after the whistle. Think about it.

Wings_Toledo 233 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Again, seriously? That's just wrong. It's just plain wrong. Worst of all, you made me agree with Carman for once. Goddamnit. Clearly no one caught the fact that I was exaggerating. My point was that at least what Bertuzzi did was in defense of a teammate. Cheapshot? Yes. But up until that point in his career, was Bertuzzi known as a whiny, gutless little brat who threw temper tantrums when he didn't get his way? No. He was a power forward capable of being in the top 5 in scoring from year to year. After the incident he apologized and showed true remorse for what he did, something I seriously doubt Crosby would be capable of doing. So, if you didn't understand what I meant, there you go. titanium2 867 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) Not the first time Crosby has sought out Zetterberg in stupid frustration. And this is coming from a guy who thinks Crosby gets way too much flak and attention around here. I love how Z was like "WTF? Who invited this guy?" and how DMac yelled at what's his face for yapping at Z. That penalty on Lilja still bugs me. Ridiculous. I remember Babs commenting on that and saying, "...I can't believe this is happening." Stupid fake ass Bettman. Edited March 23, 2010 by titanium2
deetroit dario 27 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 guys, maybe we're missing something here. after all, when it comes to things like this, i always felt that the retaliation should be measured against the offense... maybe carmen is right, and howie was out of line....after all, its not like it was a MAN doing all that cross-checking on Z... EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 I was reading this over at the HFBoards: There's rumors Howard could be suspended a game for face washing Cindy. Also Cindy had this to say about Howard. "“I don’t know what he was doing,’’ Crosby said. “It was one of those things, a couple guys battling at the end. I knew the linesman was in there. I don’t know whether (Howard) wanted a free shot, but I don’t think it was any place for him to be.’’" http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=753803 If this even thinks about going beyond unsubstantiated rumors, I will be pissed. Does it really matter that much if Howard gets suspended for a game? He is due for a rest anyway I also think Howie could use a game off before the end of the season, but it's the principle of the matter. If Howie gets suspended for something so indescribably stupid and minor like facewashing Crosby, whereas other players can not get suspended for hits to the head or repeated crosschecks to the back and head to other teams star players... it's just asinine. alowicious 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Yep, I caught that too. Loser is so used to saying all Crosby, all the time that he wanted to give Crosby the credit for Fleury's great save. I heard that as well. I literally said "You have got to be kidding me!"

Barrie 900 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Since I was the one to say there was rumors Howard could be suspended a game, I decided to listen to Hockey Central at Noon in Toronto. There was no mention of the post game scrum, so probably nothing public will happen. It doesn't seem like it's an issue outside Detroit and Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be surprised though if the League, low key, calls Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Well that could explain why Zetterberg refuses to man up and defend himself... Hard to "defend" yourself when the minute you take a shot at the guy going after you the team zerg rushes the bastard.
Barrie 900 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Well that could explain why Zetterberg refuses to man up and defend himself... I'm sure if Zetterberg took a swing, he'd be the one to get punished by the League, Crosby probably knew it too. Z did the right thing.

EuroTwin 240 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) Hey there. Haven't seen you in a while. And you moved it seems to Ann Arbor. When did that happen? Just a couple weeks ago! My boyfriend got transferred from SF International Airport to Detroit Metro, which is something we'd been hoping for. Got the news at the end of February, and had about 10 days to pack up everything and move across the country. Lucky for us, we have friends in Ann Arbor that we're staying with while everything settles. I was internet-less for a while. But very relieved to be back. Red Apparition 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 Because crosschecks in front of the net never happen in hockey, correct? No, they never happen so cheaply and AFTER the buzzer when the game is already decided. In fact, if i'm not mistaken there's supposed to be suspensions handed out for those sort of things. Hey man nice shot! 144 Report post Posted March 23, 2010 i was sitting 3 feet from where that all started. 1) the arena was not kind to sid and he couldnt handle the wings fans chanting sidney sucks lmao i watched the guys game completly melt on that acount last night. 2) Any player taking liberities at players backs deserves to get his ass beat reguardless the time remaining in the game. They might of got a suspension over the issue but it gives those* kinds of people the idea they can do that to there teamates all the time....WHEN OUR GOALIE IS THE THE BIGGEST ENFORCER ON THE ICE! people on our team are gonna get hurt. 3) I understand bert is 35 and wants to play a more lax kind of game beecause of his past...BUT FOR CHRIST SAKE KNOCK SID TFO!ok im done venting
