Is Datsyuk "Superhuman"?

Rate this topic

I have been noticing this for a while now and seriously, Datsyuk is turning 32 this summer and still is getting better, and better, and....They made a comment during one of the playoff games about his training and how it is second to none, first on the ice and the last to leave kind of thing. Then after the game doesnt do a cool down he does a full blown workout, only one on the whole team that does that. I just think that by 32 a player usually has already been streamlining and maybe even on the decline a little. He as most of you will probably agree is going to have a stronger year this year then last, by far. So this begs the question, do you think Datsyuk is Superhuman?

He's great, but I don't see him improving from his 08-09 97 point year.

Hopefully he can put up 90+ numbers this year if the top 6 can stay healthy.

He would easily get 100+ pts on almost every other team if he got to play all offense like many of the players around the league...

Yeah he does get 2 minutes less PP time on average then other 90+ point players.

Would be interesting to see how he would do, then again a lot of his points do come off the transition after a great back check by him.

Williams said when he re-signed with us that Datsyuk* was the best conditioned athlete he'd ever come across, and he's seen a few as he bounced around the hockey world

*And Draper.

points mean little. but even if it mean something he is a way better then 99.999% of the league:

Really though he is a perfect example that hard work pays off

I think he's more an example of how much talent has to do with everything. Of course you have to work hard and still have talent to even get to the NHL, but Datsyuk is just a natural talent.

I don't think he was better this year than last year.

You can say that about the whole team I guess, but I think we've seen his peak as a player. Hopefully he stays at this level for a few more years.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is just another biased LGW member who expects Datsyuk to score 120 points next year and for Hank to hit 50 goals, while Hudler scores 80 points. Tired of these unrealistic expectations.

He didn't have the kind of season a guy like that should have had.

I was hoping his peak would be a few consecutive 100 point seasons...He really did slide statistically..
