” … and sure enough, in a unique McCartney tribute to Pittsburgh, there was a Penguins sticker placed strategically above the Wings sticker when “Yesterday” was the first song of the second encore."
Like that actually means anythingOr does this mean that s***sburg are better than the wings because they have a sticker higher than the wings? The wings one is bigger anyway
Well they did come out on top... YESTERDAY...

Maybe he was playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
it would be a disgrace to that song if mccartney was playing it

Pretty lame how they basically forced him into it, though.

Anyone know why the Red Wing is there in the first place?
Before the Friday show, Paul McCartney did an on-air interview with a local Detroit classic rock and roll station, WCSX while traveling to the sound check at the Palace. He talked about the Detroit Red Wings sticker on his Epiphone acoustic guitar. He said he was given the sticker by a fan at the Olympia stadium (the former home of the Detroit Red Wings) on the 1976 Wings Tour.

Not really. It's just what some stars do that makes them think they'll play better if they have that "new guitar feel" depending on their need. It's kind of like how Allen Iverson would change into a new pair of shoes every quarter or something like that.

No no no. Not when it comes to guitars and other musical instruments. You have that one "baby" and you stick with it. And no musician has that many identical guitars. Not really. Epiphone actually markets a Paul McCartney Signature Texan guitar that's identical to his original minus the Red Wings sticker. I have a feeling those guitars are part of a promotional run of the series. They've even got the identical wear and tear on all them.
edit: and no musician has what appears to a bus devoted to carrying one type of instrument.

dont forget anthrax and megadethI never knew he had a Wings sticker on one of his guitars. That's pretty neat.
Looks like a nice gesture since he was in Pittsburgh. Some singers (Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, etc.) wear the jerseys of the hometown team while performing.

Brett Hull would also wear 4 pairs of gloves a night - one for the warmup and a different pair for each period.
