Nick Kypreos reporting that Antti Niemi will sign with San Jose as early as tomorrow. Likely 1 year deal worth around $2 million.

And theere it is. Swing and a miss on Hjalmarsson, but hello Niemi. He will work out well there.

But what happened to Fribourg-Gotteron?
Sorry; I was thinking about the wrong over-priced Chicago goalie.

If this makes them a contender I will laugh my ass off in June.

I'm going to root for San Jose to meet up with Chicago in the playoffs again. This could be hilarious.

Fair price for both sides. Good on Niemi, taking the one-year deal if he feels he can improve and up his salary the following year.
It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

Eh, they shoulda just gone with Niiiiiiitiiiitttitittitty and Greiss. Both are better than Niemi, and both are more experienced.
If some bored artist wants to make me a signature, feel free to cut loose and do so.

Of course, I could get off my lame rear and do something.

Would of rather had Nabokov over Niemi any day of the week. Couldn't care less if Niemi has won a cup I can assure you he will never win another one.

As for him taking a 1 year contract, of course he is because no one's giving him a 5 year contract 3m >.

Sharks should of re-sign Nabby or get Turco.

NOBODY else watching, eh?

LOL.....

Didn't think so.

**Edit**

After that 3rd goal against, the game tying goal, scored from the goal line....

Anyone STILL want to argue that goaltending was NOT a detriment to the Wings this past Post Season?

Sheesh....

He's better than what they had. Niittymaki is a nervous breakdown waiting to happen and Griess has no experience against the league's best.

I'm still hoping the Sharks don't notice the gaping hole in leadership and blueline ability with Blake gone, but this is one hole filled.

And LOL @ the guy who just bent our fantasy league rules to their breaking point to add Griess to the roster over the summer.

It was obvious he'd end up somewhere.

Niemi, Nittymaki, Greiss...how about they sign Theodore too?
Jordan Tootoo will wreck shop.

We need someone like Parise that can penetrate the box.-blueadams

I must say good move by San Jose, I like Niemi and think he'll decline slightly in numbers only because he'll play more games but he will be a solid and "allstar" voteable goalie come the christmas season.

This is really the best LGW joke ever.

Niittymäki-Niemi- tandem can be really good or not really good.

But I think it's pretty solid tandem.

Anyone STILL want to argue that the Sharks are the epitome of perennial playoff failures?

It was Howard's first postseason experience. I wouldn't be so quick to throw him under the bus.
