I will be introducing (hopefully) a new GDT format by the start of the regular season. For now during the pre-season, I'm still going with last year's format.

I'll have to watch this on streaming, even if nobody big is playing it'll be good to see some hockey again.
Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

Wish I could watch this one. I hope Downs has a great game, along with everyone else. Hope Mo scores one in his first game in Red.

I kinda hope Matt Cooke is playing but it's a double edged sword. If he's out there then a lot of the Wings' good players are at risk. But I kind of want him to play because Downey is going to play and I want Downs to run him out of the game. Not gonna lie.

Doth mine eyes deceive me....? Is that a GDT?

:siren: :siren:

Awesome pic btw, which game/goal is that? I'm figuring 2009 finals, but can't place it (erased memory perhaps).
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Why are they wasting a roster spot on Aaron Downy? Why not let one of the kids play so they get a feel for the NHL?

What a waste!

Finally hockey is back! Hopefully there is some kind of stream I can find somewhere on the internet. I can't handle waiting to watch this team play any longer.

Watch out for Cros-wall.

Last year he worked on face-offs and became a dominant face-off man.

This year he's working on his Kronwallian hit... "keep yo' head up, NHL" will be the new slogan for the "NHL on NBC".

What a waste!

Probably because there is more than one pre season game and Downy wont play in all of them. He's gotta get a feel for the team and a chance to maybe make the team as well.

Agreed. I guess Mursak, Emmerton, Andersson ect will all be in action for our next game, but to me they should be getting as many games as possible.

Anyway, looking forward to the game, hopefully Kindl, Ritola and Lashoff all impress with strong games.

Ken Holland: He’s (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, he’s a puck hound.
