legaleaglewingsfan 75 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Before I went to my first RW game at JLA last April I stopped at a Meijer and bought myself a 40 buck Z "jersey". I went to the game and we beat the Coyotes to tie the series 2-2. For Christmas I got myself one of those customizable ones they sell at JLA with my name on it for 150. I can honestly say while I know the newer one is "nicer" I wouldnt trade any 350 jersey for my $40 one cause its not the jersey itself in my opinion, its the memories you have in it that gives em value. But just IMHO. I cant wait for tomorrow night, I just wish I didnt have to work on Bar Exam studies cause my school is positioned halfway between Columbus and JLA and I have always thought it would be cool to do the home and home weekend thing...maybe next year. 2 Vladifan and Konnan511 reacted to this

Travis 576 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 I just found this site via Facebook and the jerseys look legit at INSANE prices! What do you guys think? My link I can almost guarantee that these jerseys won't look anything like the NHL.com thumbnails that they're using. Look at the list of players you can choose from for your Winter Classic jersey: 5 - Nicklas Lidstrom 13 - Pavel Datsyuk 40 - Henrik Zetterberg 42 - Mattias Ritola 81 - Marian Hossa 90 - Mike Modano All the players that you'd find on a site like DHGate with Ritola and Modano being the dead giveaways. Detroit40oz 21 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) CCM's, Nike's, and (least favorably) Starter's are actually easy to find and you can get great deals if you skim ebay. Especially if you're looking for an older player. I'd just be careful to look at the pics thoroughly, sometimes a customized one may have s***ty disproportioned lettering. I hate when the lettering on the name doesn't have the correct slanted letters, or smaller numbers on the back than it should. Even hockeytown authentics doesnt have the correctly sized numbers on the back. they're a bit smaller than they should be, which I think is kinda f***ed up considering they're current product and from one of the more legitimate sources possible. Anyways, as for ebay deals, heres a good example. someone in clinton township is unloading what looks to be a mint and nicely lettered CCM replica McCarty for 26 bucks and $9.00 shipping, buy it now listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/CCM-Heavy-Mesh-Detroit-Red-Wings-McCARTY-Jersey-MEN-M-/330518516375?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item4cf4705297#ht_666wt_825 I'd jump on it if it wasn't a Medium. I actually did go the chinese knockoff route on one occasion... I really wanted a Mikko Koivu Minnesota home jersey (the red one with the green circular logo), and I decided to give a chinese knockoff a try because a friend just bought a completely amazing looking Price Canadiens jersey. It looked beautiful, the only flaw was that it smelled of child labor. It literally smelled like the s*** those chinese box vendors sell at flea markets. I paid 50 bucks, shipped. Anyways, what I got was an AWAY jersey, horribly lettered, and threads already coming loose from the hem's and a couple seams. I detached the Koivu name plate and plan on re-centering it somewhere down the line, but i'll probably never wear it because its like 2 sizes too small and fits like scuba gear. I'll never buy a knockoff ever again. Edited January 13, 2011 by Detroit40oz

WMUCarGuy 8 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 I would email them and ask to see photos of the actual jerseys they have on hand. Yea, I did that for all of their Red Wings ones, I'd love to get a road white authentic and get cleary on it and that Gordie one is just awesome. It's just a matter of whether it's a quality product or not.
ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Agreed. I don't feel like I'm wearing a dress with the reeboks. That's how hockey jerseys are supposed to fit I just found this site via Facebook and the jerseys look legit at INSANE prices! What do you guys think? My link I can almost guarantee that those are fake. When the price is that low, and they use stock photos, its usually the case.
Theophany 110 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Finding the older CCM made jerseys is gonna be tough. SportsK.com appears to be sold out...This ebay store appears to have what you would want, and so far it has a good customer rating. I've never bought from that store so I honestly cannot say anything good/bad about them. Based on a Lidstrom jersey they're also selling, I'd say they're knock-offs. CCMs always had the logo embroidered somewhere on the hem line, the back of the neck, or the wrist.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) This actual photo of the Hank jersey leads me to believe this is the real deal. Would just hope with it being 275 that it would in fact be the legit jersey. Sportsk is still #1 on my list. Ebay has always been good to me, but with a purchase of this magnitude it is something worth putting a lot of thought into. Ratings are near perfect, though with over 3100 sold. Must be legit. Also can't visibly see the fight strap. A little skeptical now, especially with it stating "authentic". Edited January 13, 2011 by HankthaTank

It's missing the NHL shield on the collar just above the laces. It's a replica and not the authentic. Plus it doesn't look like the D is stitched to the jersey, but rather heat pressed on. Yeah, not worth it by any means. Wouldn't even pay 3/4 that if it is going to be all of the fake stuff. This process has become mind numbing. Might need to just save the $ instead
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 Ahh hell with it. I ordered my Hank WC jersey through sportsk just now. If I am going to get one, there is no better place to go. I will post some pics as soon as I get it.

Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted January 14, 2011 I'd be a wealthier man had I not purchased it but I certainly wouldn't be a happier man. SportsK did a wonderful job and I would recommend them hands down. The price was right too. 2 HankthaTank and ACallToArms reacted to this

It's nearly impossible to find the authentic WC's anymore and when you do you pay through the nose. I consider myself extremely lucky that I even found an authentic one let alone one that was my size. Is this the jersey you ordered? If it is I understand the CCM/RBK issue. http://www.sportsk.com/viredwi19.html Edited January 14, 2011 by Howard He Do It?!

CCMs always had the logo embroidered somewhere on the hem line, the back of the neck, or the wrist. That seller is legit, I'm not sure why this jersey doesn't have the CCM logo. It should be at the neck or hem. Not sure on this one. This seller is the high price, legit jersey seller on ebay, I've never seen him try to sell fake stuff. I'd never pay 149.99 for a replica jersey though. I didn't purchase the jersey through SportsK as they only offered the replica ones. Mine is an authentic jersey. I didn't even know CCM made WC jerseys. To my knowledge only RBK made the WC jerseys. CCM and Reebok are the same company. I think they release "vintage" jerseys with the CCM logo. I don't believe the vintage line of wings jerseys have the winter classic patch on the front, but its easy enough to buy one and have it sewn on.
