Yeah, this was the absolute most frustrating game to watch in a long, long time. I mean, that 3rd period, we owned the game, we kept the puck in their zone, but nothing came of it. No one wanted to shoot, if they did shoot it was way off the mark. I don't know what the hell happened out there. And this meltdown had to happen in front of a bunch of s***cago fans too...great...

I can understand why the Blackhawk fans are so happy... They won one game against the Detroit Red Wings (who are the best team in the West, arguably the best team in the league) in 4 tries. They must feel so excited knowing they probably won't make the playoffs, but know their team can put together enough ummph for a game to pull out a win against the best team in the West. I'm sure the Islander fans can relate to how they must feel; after all, they beat the Red Wings 7-1.

Good job Chicago. Hope your team makes the playoffs!

What makes you think anybody here cares about YOU? We didn't ask you to come here, but you came anyway, looking for trouble, and now you get miffed when you find it? You say a little trash talking never hurt anyone, yet you get "thin-skinned" yourself when someone gives you a little of your own medicine. Funny how that works. I don't know why I'm wasting my time, though...trolls never care about logic, and when confronted with it, all they can do is think up a lame comeback like "ass kisser."

Anyway, at least we know we can bounce back from this; it's just a hurdle on a long road ahead. I don't exactly relish losing to the team whose fans are obsessed with chanting, "Detroit sucks," but it's so obvious that we're better than this that I don't even have to say it. Hopefully this will be the ultimate wake-up call, and it'll help them establish a rhythm and get a more consistent level of energy going in future games. I've said that before, of course, but this is kind of a bigger blow than losing to, say, the Preds.

Yeah, what is UP with Franzen lately? During the Kings game on Monday I was thinking to myself, dude, is he okay? And it's continued on into this game...it's seriously kind of worrying me. I mean, everybody was struggling tonight, and Flip's been struggling for a while now, but it's not because they aren't healthy. Franzen, on the other hand, keeps looking like he's totally out of it, like something's really wrong and he's just trying his best to keep up. Whatever it is, I hope he gets over it soon.

I was worried about this game yesterday when I read one of the teams say something like "this is just another game against a divisional foe". That is correct just another game against the #11 team in the west. But for Chicago, it was a game against big Brother and they obviously played harder.

I expect a great effort against Dallas tomorrow as the Wings want Ozzie to get #400.

It's tough to stay motivated all season especially when playing a non-playoff team like Chicago. I think the Wings no longer treat Chicago as if they are a threat.

I read a similar article saying some of the things you were referring to, Chris. I have noticed that when there is a pre-game ceremony, the Wings often struggle and sometimes lose. Hard to say how or if they lose their focus or whatever, but the Curse of the Pre-Game Ceremony"?

Not a good excuse. If anything, the Wings should have been MORE mentally prepared in Chicago -- and as it was, it was more like mentally impaired. The game is mental sometimes... they were in a coma at the wrong time. That's all.

I expect the real team to show up on Sunday, when it matters more.. at least to Chris Osgood.
