shoulda brought up his brother, coulda used the same jersey :hehe:

Wouldn't even have had to do any paperwork. Just don't get the camera too close.

Oh... I just had a brilliant idea for circumventing the cap. I must get back to my lair.

Hope Val gets better, and Emmerton does well.

I really have been waiting for Emmerton to play. I though the Wings should have sent Tatar back down and put Corey up for a few anyways. This has nothing to do with Tatar's play but with the fact that we are running out of time with Emmerton and I want to get a feel for what he can do now. Honestly number one with a bullet of guys that could get traded for something at the deadline is Emmerton. He might be our best most developed prospect that we would be willing to part with... Why not give him a few games to figure out?

Fil will be back next game, but I hope Emmerton still is here so we can see him build upon what he does today.

I am starting to embrace injuries for what they allow us to find out about our farmboys. However, please stop now okay? ;)

I'm excited to see how he does. I kind of figure he'll take Modano's center spot next season, but I guess we'll see. I wonder if he'll be wearing number 48 again...

I kind of hope not, if there is only one spot available next season it should go to Mursak. I think we all can agree that he has been playing the best out of the bruised boy back ups!

Illari should have been recalled, he has been better than emmerton you notice him every shift hes on the ice.

I am sure I will be corrected if wrong, but I believe that Illari would have to clear waivers... I assume that he will be on the team next year with a good camp though.

It really seems that Ilari isn't in the future plans of the Red Wings. He would've been called already at least once with all these injuries if that was the case.

which is almost too bad.... coulda been like the sedins

man, i want to see what iflip can do. seriously, give the guy a shot.

Meh, Ive watched a tonne of Griffs games this year and Emmerton does a lot of the little things right. He can PK, wins defensive zone faceoffs, and is producing at a pretty similar rate.

On top of that Emmerton is yonuger and has been a guy the wings have developed over like 3 years. Emmerton deserved his shot more then Ilari

Remember what the Wings have invested into Emmerton. I have been on the front line of the "For the love of God we need another Filppula on this team". But all in all, Emmerton cannot pass through waivers next season, this is his shot to show the Wings what he has. If he falters (if you can even do that in one or two games), I expect iFlip to be the next guy to get a shot.

iFlip is waiver exempt since it's his first season in the NHL and he didn't start the season abroad.
