mad editing skills i know

This looks photoshopped to me. i dont think that picture is real.

I had a student teacher one year who was dating Brent Johnson. I think her name was Christina, wouldn't happen to be your cousin would it?

Nope. i guess he gets around! This was back before he was a canuck.

Correct. Since he signed it (and it took effect) before he turned 35, then they're free of his contract hit for the cap.

"Yo, Ricky D! Glad to see you're okay and doing - is that supposed to be swollen like that? Anyways, look, we decided that for your best interest, we'll ask you to retire - seriously, has a doctor even LOOKED at that? Well, don't worry, you should have plenty of money to support yourself and your famiily - don't cry, mate, you might pull a groin or something! What, those aren't tears? Who's your doctor, Magoo? But, in all due respect, you can't stay healthy for us long enough to be effective, and, quite frankly, we're worried about your long term health - was that supposed to fall off like that?"

Well, on the bright side, he's only under contract for what, 8 and half more seasons?

Until 2021-2022. Plus they have the buyouts of Brendan Witt - $1.333m this year, $833k next year...

And Alexi Yashin - $4.755m this year, $2.204m next year, and the year after...

...and the year after...

...and the year after.

"Horrendous" is a fairly accurate adjective the describe the Isle's cap management. I guess their only saving grace is the fact that they still have $19m to spend if they wanted to could afford to.

A couple of tidbits from TSN analysts. Barnaby doesn't think DP will finish out the contract, but he will still be in the NHL in s few years

Meaning what? The Isles will buy him out too. I can't imagine the number on that.

There is no way to restructure that contract is there?

On That's Hockey they broke down the numbers. DP's started only 16% of games in the last three seasons. 34 of 215 games. He's been paid $11,790,000 or $346,765/start.

Hell, if the Isle can get Nabby to start two games, he's already a better value than Ricky.

I think another 4 years as well after this year.

They won't buyout DiPietro's contract more like ask him to retire. It makes more sense and I would play the "think about your future health" card. Let's be honest he really does if his knee is this bad and he is that brittle.

Joey Mac for Nabokov straight up. ph34r.gif

lol totally fair.

Poor DiPietro...

Nabby was not interested even prior to this incident.

"I was surprised they picked me up. I was like, 'Wow, what's the point?' " Nabokov told ESPN. "It's nothing against the Islanders and their organization. It's just that I'm at the point in my career where I want to help a team win in the playoffs. I don't see how I could help the Islanders or what I could do for them."

hehe just loved reading that.
