Yak19 303 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Can't do much without Pavel FTFY Mule is inconsistent as hell only plays when he wants to. Datsyuk is a necessity
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Homer was hacked down in front of the net not 30 seconds before he got that bs penalty. Double standard indeed. Not to mention the several times Howard was bumped as well as ran over.
syntax 359 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 FTFY Mule is inconsistent as hell only plays when he wants to. Datsyuk is a necessity Scary but true. I thought we were a 'deep' team, but it seems like: no pavel = no win.
egroen 384 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Another very *** and uninspired performance. I hate March hockey. It's like cold turkey for Wings fans. Can't wait for the ******* playoffs to begin already. Don't care where we're seeded or where we finish. Just start the playoffs this weekend please. March always sucks in Detroit - except last year when it was the first time we bad a healthy team. It is worrisome to see teams like the Canucks and Penguins continue to pile on the wins all season long despite some huge injuries. Wings better flip that proverbial switch in the playoffs. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 This game was like the 8th year anniversary of the infamous Don Van(couver) Massenhoven game at the Joe in 2003, right? I've watched Van Mass closely since then but I haven't seen him pull another job like that since until tonight. Maybe it's something about the Canucks that brings it out in him. Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Not to mention the several times Howard was bumped as well as ran over. Which directly led to a goal.
ENuck 2 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Not to mention the several times Howard was bumped as well as ran over. Kinda like what the Hawks did to Luongo in the playoffs.. see what Gillis did there Anyways.. here's to both teams getting and staying healthy for the run. That's because those teams work hard. The Wings are lazy and don't work hard. Very simple really. BTW, is it possible for this team to win a game at the JLA? I mean, I know the fans there don't show up and the arena sounds like the echo of an indoor swimming pool while watching it on TV, but this is getting pathetic. I'm starting to wish we didn't have home ice in the first round. Edited March 24, 2011 by GMRwings1983 1 aflac9262 reacted to this

I'm starting to wish we didn't have home ice in the first round. I can't get too upset about this one though - effort was there and Howard was good. Datsyuk, Franzen and Bertuzzi could have easily made the difference. Ultimately, Luongo just proved he was the better goalie, which is not shocking.

In the 2nd the Canucks made some adjustments as good teams do and took it to us but we stayed in the game. The 3rd was a 50/50 period and they scored on a goal that many would argue was a hook on Drapes that turned into a terrible clearing attempt and a goal by the potential Hart, Art Ross and Richard trophy winner. We had a decent push but couldn't score. Two good hockey teams in a good hockey game I thought. If you are anywhere as negative in real life as you are in here then I feel sorry for your dog. GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 51 games? Random sample size much? How about in the last 74 we are 43-22-9 ...I mean cmon. What happened in October and November only matters when it comes to records. The point was that the team is playing average for a very long time. That's not a great sign going into the playoffs. And before you mention 2008 or 2002 or some other dumb random fact, we don't have Hasek, Osgood or a team with 10 Hall of Famers going into these playoffs. We just look flat right now heading into the postseason.

Actually the Pens are right around .500 since losing Malkin and Crosby. The Vancouver big three of the Sedins and Kessler has played all 74 games. So yea, they had alot of injuries on the blue line but not to their top forwards. How many games has Datsyuk missed? Franzen?
