Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Hot damn Jimmy with 54 saves. Just plain WOW. 32 saves. Certain people here just can't watch a game without complaining. Wings were tired after yesterday's game and I saw this game as a great effort against a desperate team. Ducks really pushed hard the final 30 minutes.  1 LasVegasRocks reacted to this

Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 the boys hit the wall in the 2nd but dug deep and came up big. not blameing one for the pens we gave away there were alot of tired legs out on the ice. this win will do them the world of good.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Ericsson had an OK game. He had a great pass setting up Bertuzzi for a breakaway. Wings are 6-3-1 in the last 10. Good enough for me. 2 LasVegasRocks and haroldsnepsts reacted to this

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) FSN just boasted 52 saves out of 54, wonder whos wrong Ducks pressed well, but not that well. 54 shots would've looked like a complete domination. Edited November 21, 2011 by P. Marlowe
brennan17 64 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Nice! I predicted 4-2 and Zetterberg getting out of this slump on thefirst page. I shall predict more games for Now on 2 LidsFan and DatsyukianDangles122 reacted to this

That’s 52 of 54 shots stopped in the last two against the Ducks. The shutout two weeks ago and this game. 1 LasVegasRocks reacted to this

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Murphy (on Franzen): "He had 35 (goals) last year, how many players do you see who reach that goal?" Not many. Only seven did it last year, and Franzen has never hit 35 in his career. 1 Reds4Life reacted to this
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Another good showing from the Wings. They bent but didn't break. I won't say he's back just yet but it's the best looking game from Zetterberg in a long time. Bert looked good on the line with Pavel and Mule too. It seems like he's gripping the stick a little tight, but he really was doing the right things out there, as cliche as that sounds. Another awesome game from Jimmy. And I like Ericsson chatting with Stuart after the game as they skate off the ice. I'm guessing he was offering to buy Stuart dinner for bailing him out with that empty netter. Smith continues to impress. And can someone please punch Koivu in the mouth? He apparently gets a free pass from the refs and makes the most of it with crosschecks and hooks. 1 EuroWing reacted to this

And can someone please punch Koivu in the mouth? He apparently gets a free pass from the refs and makes the most of it with crosschecks and hooks. The complaining about reffing on the Ducks HFBoards subforum was absolutely epic. They were even accusing Kronwall of diving to draw that crosschecking penalty, despite the fact that throwing oneself forward onto the ice without pushing off with one's legs is impossible, let alone doing so instantaneously upon being crosschecked. They were even accusing Kronwall of diving to draw that crosschecking penalty, despite the fact that throwing oneself forward onto the ice without pushing off with one's legs is impossible, let alone doing so instantaneously upon being crosschecked. They've apparently been listening to Selanne... Koivu had a pretty good crosscheck on Zetterberg too, right before he hooked him around the waist and forced him to the ice. 13dangledangle 968 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Earlier today I used my allowed votes trying to get Howard into the Allstar game and I am still confused as per why he didn't get on the ballot; I don't know if it was the fact Howard wasn't on the ballot or the big flashing "Sids coming back" signs but for some reason something screams f@ck Bettman :looney: Edited November 21, 2011 by 13dangledangle 1 lil Wing's fan reacted to this
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Given what Gilchrist went through injury-wise in order to remain an active NHL player, I'm inclined to read this as some sort of 'I'm into S&M' secret jersey code deal. I didn't know the story, so I had to look it up: "The Red Wings’ Brent Gilchrist wasn’t one-legged in 1998; he was no-groined."
hooon 1,089 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Great win! Glad to see Z have such a good game. Ericsson looked terrible again tonight. Smith has played well. I hope when White is back big E gets some games off, I'd rather have Smith in, personally.
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 Stuart, Datsyuk and Zetterberg all playing much better in the 2nd quarter of the season. If it came down to Ericsson Smith and Kindl, I'd sit Ericsson, especially after that terrible penalty late in the game. Otherwise, the team is looking good and I have no real complaints besides our terrible PP. 1 eva unit zero reacted to this
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 That was a really strong game playing two consecutive days. Only four points out of first place in the conference after some rough stretches is not too bad at all. - Jimmy Howard is one of the best goalies in the league right now and hopefully going forward. - Stuart should have been first star. Beyond the two goals, he was brilliant defensively tonight. - Zetterberg was a force at both ends of the ice. - Great effort on the last two PK's by Cleary. - Smith needs to stay on the team. Nice win Wings!
CanadaBoy 151 Report post Posted November 21, 2011 The puck started going in for Datsyuk yesterday. Here's hoping it does for Zetterberg today. Against the Kings Z did have a really nice backhand shot that looked like the Zetterberg of old. Hopefully he keeps it up.
