S.H.M.B. 25 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 The mascot shot that guy directly in the eye. His reaction was perfectly understandable. If I were in his shoes, my vision may just have gotten blurry in that eye, but not so blurry that I can't read the word "attorney" in the Yellow Pages. 4 Skeptikal, T.Low, redwings4life and 1 other reacted to this

Gizmo 21 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) While I agree that it's probably advisable to tell your "entertainment" staff to not spray stuff directly into the faces of obnoxious fans (particularly of the visiting team), the dude's reaction was even lamer. On top of that... that "gangsta" T-shirt is hideous. Edited January 21, 2012 by Gizmo 1 Travis reacted to this
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 The mascot's actions are just as f***ed up as the fan. I think the mascot is a girl that's why the dood didn't actually whip it's ass more when he was sprayed. So actually he showed some restraint for a drunk fat ******. esteef 1 Wingzman91 reacted to this

Honestly if this happened to a Wings fan, I'd think it was kinda funny (aside from the d-bag tshirt). It's one thing to tease an opposing fan, but spraying him in the face is over the line, even if it's just silly string. They're both idiots.
hooon 1,089 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) To be honest, I'd be pretty pissed if some mascot from an opposing team sprayed me in the face and eyes with that crap while I'm trying to enjoy a hockey game. I dunno if I would have reacted like him, but still that seems pretty inappropriate for the mascot to instigate. T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 That's not a mascot, that's an asscot! I'd be getting free hotdogs and cokes for the rest of the game for my whole section if that stupid douchebag sprayed me in the face like that. Why does he think it's ok to f*** with anybody like that? It's not like the guy is sitting front row at the Shamoo show and is mad about getting wet. You don't go to an NHL hockey game and expect to be a part of the show. I don't care to go to games anymore because there is too much distracting sideshow crap going on that has nothing to do with hockey.

Rice 42 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 Why is anyone saying the mascot is just as stupid as the fan? It's silly string... all the guy had to do was laugh and pull it off. What I see here is your stereotypical Boston "hardass" trying to look like your sterotypical Boston "hardass." 1 mjlegend reacted to this

What I see here is your stereotypical Boston "hardass" trying to look like your sterotypical Boston "hardass." Mainly just that he sprayed him directly in the face as he was walking away. That's gonna come off as more than good natured teasing. Plus I'm guessing it wasn't hard to tell the Boston fan had already had a few. He's yapping at the mascot when he gets sprayed. sleepwalker 512 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 Hopefully, whoever that retard playing the "mascot" was got their ass fired for that bulls*** stunt. You spray someone you don't know (or even someone you do know) in the eye with some s***, you should fully expect to get hit for it. This isn't some 1965 hippy commune, its the real world. 2 T.Low and Wingzman91 reacted to this
AceInTheSleeve 97 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) At the very end I love where the mascot starts rubbing its eyes like a bawling baby Yeah that was funny at the end there, I also liked the way he was pointing to the 'door' as the guy was getting escorted out. Although, silly string to a strangers face is just asking for trouble. That sort of shenanigans should get the guy some free tickets to another game, too bad he wont get s*** all now after shoving the mascot. Pretty strange looking mascot though? What is it, some sort of insect? I would have something like a Thor or Zeus mascot if my team was named the 'lightning' Edited January 21, 2012 by AceInTheSleeve

AceInTheSleeve 97 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) Yeah you're right, hes a firefly aka. lightning bug. Still think Thor would be way way better for a mascot. Edited January 21, 2012 by AceInTheSleeve

sleepwalker 512 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 It's also not the Thunderdome. Lighten up, Francis. Nothing dark about what I said, so no need to lighten it up. I'm saying the "mascot" went up and sprayed some big random guy point blank directly in the eye. What did he expect would happen? Seems like he was intentionally trying to provoke a fight and/or get the guy ejected to me.
Detroit40oz 21 Report post Posted January 21, 2012 I would have done the same thing this guy did. The mascot bulls*** was uncalled for and he/she's probably lucky that people intervened right away. Mascots in hockey are a huge for me. Unless they were to just skate around on the ice between periods or something.

sandyeggo wingnut 19 Report post Posted January 22, 2012 Not defending the attack on the mascot but...Silly string is NOT something you want sprayed in your eye. The evaproating propelant can cause frostbite and the solvent is flamable as it come out of the can. In addition, the stuff is a skin irritant, and people can have allergic reactions to it. What the mascot did could be considered battery. 4 sleepwalker, T.Low and 55fan reacted to this
