Nightfall 871 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Much better than I expected, too bad for the loss. I thought the Wings played well considering what they had. Conklin played very well. 9 GoWings1905, ChelisChick, Lovin Jiri Fischer and 5 others reacted to this
Redwings-40-5 11 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Despite the loss I thought this was a pretty good game for us. Ty looked solid tonight, makes me wonder where that was a couple of months ago. I'm becoming more impressed with Smith by the game. 1 LidsFan reacted to this
Crashnburnluder 385 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 We are an injury depleted team with a 2nd/3rd string goalie and we played a heck of a game against the best in the East. I'm happy and proud of our guys! 4 MidMichSteve, Redwings-40-5, LidsFan and 1 other reacted to this
Hatchet Barry 71 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 WHAT THE f*** WAS CLEARY DOING ON THE ICE IN OT?!?! This team is done for. Babcock is a f***tard. Not just on the ice, but paired with Zetts, lol, WTF Babcock......WTF??? 1 Motown4013 reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 It looks like Datsyuk was brought back too soon. They better rest him if it means getting him healthier for the playoff round. 3 brett, syntax and LidsFan reacted to this
wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 With injuries players usually come back and have a pretty good first game just because of momentum but then usually have slow games for 2 to 3 games after that... so no surprise that Pasha seemed a bit slow tonight. It did not help that Babcock has put CLEARY or HUDLER with him though as they are both slow and cant follow a play up if they wanted to. Hudler had a terrible game tonight and had no reason to do so whereas Pavs can because he is still getting into game form. Having said that, this was a fantastic game to watch from a fan of hockey standpoint... 2 great teams battling it out, both goalies making timely saves, strong defense and the refs let both teams play. I am very confident to say that this was the last game we will havta watch without Nick and I will be extremely surprised if he does not play Saturday night at home. We played very well tonight, for the most part, considering our lineup and I am willing to bet they start a nice winning streak beginning Saturday with the return of the Great Number 5. 1 Rick D reacted to this
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 i feel like bert and hudler's attitude towards playing minimal defence and not back checking is contagious and datsyuk caught it.

He really looked like he was getting gassed quickly. Maybe they rest him Saturday. 1 MidMichSteve reacted to this
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Problem with the Wings is they are making to many stupid mistakes. Mistakes you expect rookies to make not a veteran team. I cannot count how many times this year you see the Wings getting burned by bad changes (to many men tonight) which is all mental. And I cant think of a weaker end to end rush than the Wings gave up tonight. All that was missing was a red carpet for him to skate down before scoring. 1 LidsFan reacted to this
gowings00 545 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 LEGITIMATE QUESTION: Isn't it time we stopped (including opposing team brodcasters) saying that our AHL players are "over-seasoned" by the time they are called up? I just don't see it.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Well, one more point than expected. Conklin was surprisingly strong. Need Nick back on Saturday really bad. Schedule eases up the next three games -- huge opportunity to get some points before it gets tougher at the end. 1 LidsFan reacted to this

Yeah, it's pretty poor when a veteran like Kronwall gets burned so easily by Richards. With Lidstrom out, he has to step up and prove he can be a number one defenseman who can lead a team. Instead, he pulls that s***. 1 F.Michael reacted to this
Motown4013 350 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Sharing the sentiments about Cleary. How many goals have to go in with Cleary on the ice for Babcock to STOP playing some idiotic hunch that Number 11 Is gonna find his game in OT. f*** sakes As for the game...Ty was great and I out we ayes well. That was the Zetterberg I know and love! 1 LidsFan reacted to this
wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 Guys you dont get it... it isn't that the Wings brought Pavs back too early... he is fully recovered... the problem is that it takes 4-5 games for a returning player to get into game form. Sitting him wont help at all... he needs to play so that he can get his legs going where they should be along with his confidence. Having said that, it would help if Babs would give him some SUPPORT. 1 Nev reacted to this

CaliforniaWingsFan 464 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Man tough loss tonight. Team looked 100 times better than they did on the California road trip though. Rest Datsyuk, get rid of Cleary, get our injured guys back and we will be strong in the playoffs. Edited March 22, 2012 by CaliforniaWingsFan

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 One bright spot was nyquist again. I know he got gun-shy on the 2 on 1 but he makes really smart plays along the boards and opens up space around him. Just wait until he gains strength like Z and he will be dominating out there. ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Well at least Nyquist looks like a bad ass on either top six line. I also have to say at least the effort was there tonight, you can't win them all even when trying. Cleary is still such a terrible hockey player that I think it transends to the point that I think he kills kittens and runs over old ladies. Hudler sucks as well. Flip is the man!
