P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted July 15, 2013 Montreal Canadiens forward Blake Geoffrion announced his retirement on Monday. The 25-year-old had been considering stepping away from hockey due to lingering effects of a skull fracture and concussion suffered during an American Hockey League game in November. Geoffrion, the grandson of Canadiens legend Bernie Geoffrion and great-grandson of superstar Howie Morenz, notified general manager Marc Bergevin in March that he might retire. "After suffering an injury in November and taking time to recover and reflect, I have decided to step away from the game of hockey for the time being," Geoffrion said in a statement Monday. Opie 308 Report post Posted July 16, 2013 Best of luck to him, that has got to be tough to get so close to your dream and have to walk away due to injury. Tough decision, but with all that we have learned from the NFL and NHL about concussions and the long term affects, I have to think this is the right decision. jollymania 162 Report post Posted July 16, 2013 The video of his injury should be a public announcement video in all hockey arenas to not be that stupid with your head down when you got a guy flashing the rob blake all the way from center ice.

Geoffrion was just forced to retire so I don't think it's the right time and the best move to start calling him stupid.
