Weiss has always been one of my favorites. Dating back to his days in Florida. Was extremely excited to hear that he signed here and I'm still happy to have him. I truly hope he runs up the electric bill tonight.

This is where Cleary shows Philadelphia what they missed out on ... and they thank us.

babs is going for career win number 460 tonight, which would tie him for 21st all time.

win it for babs!!!

Real good number for only coaching for just over a decade in the NHL.

Im saying 3-1 Wings.

Just have to trade for a Kane now.

per mlive now babs is giving weiss a chance at the top line with mule and gus

http://www.mlive.com...gling_step.html

So Stephen Weiss will play with Johan Franzen and Gustav Nyquist, while Cory Emmerton centers a line with Daniel Cleary and Mikael Samuelsson.

Weiss has had a chance with everyone (including Datsyuk) pretty much and has done nothing. Even if he has a good game tonight, I hope the logical fans will still withhold judgement until such time as he proves on a nightly basis he's worth his salary.

I won't get to see the game tonight, but while it's on everyone put your collective heads together and try to will Wayne Simmonds into becoming a Red Wing.

I've been a huge fan of the guy since he was a rookie with the Kings.

Closing in on puck drop, just about an hour away. Looking forward to the game tonight, and a lot of production out of our offseason acquisitions.

Wings take it 5-2, Weiss has a 3 point night and Alf pots 2 goals.

GO WINGS GO!!

Kindl needs to go away and definitely not on the PP. How do you not give Smith a chance. You cannot enter the zone if Kindl touches the puck

Edzo n Pierre are a joke. NBC hockey telecasts make my blood boil. If its not chicago or pittsburgh playing u can bet the crack team at NBC will indeed remind you how much they love them. Perpetually hoping pierre takes a puck when between the benches.

In looking at these empty seats again, I have a question:

Other factors included, Is the Michigan-based sports fan just kind of lazy and uninspiring? Pistons fans, Tigers fans, Michigan fans, State fans, Lions fans. IMO, we seem to lack the intensity of some other city/state fan bases.
