Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 1m OFFICIAL: Miller, Ott from #Sabres for Halak, Stewart, Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016. I hate the Blues, but boy. They just became a serious threat for the Cup.
Nevermind 363 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Miller makes them Cup contenders this year for sure. And if he re-signs with them, I'd say it's a pretty good deal for the Blues. Buffalo gets a 1st round pick next year, but obviously St. Louis is hoping that's a late first round pick anyways. Edited March 1, 2014 by Nevermind

TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 The Blues definitely got the better end of this deal. They just got the Sabres captain and their franchise goalie. Looks like we may have left the West right at the perfect time. lol

TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 How much of an upgrade is Miller over Halak? Hard to say exactly, but it is definitely an upgrade.
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Atta boy such highend robbery by Army: Their top prospects still remain with the team and they've just got an elite goaltender and a gritty forward for a very low first rounder. Cup contenders for sure go Blues"!
Nevermind 363 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 How much of an upgrade is Miller over Halak? It's a definite upgrade. But perhaps more importantly, I think it's a huge morale boost for the rest of the team.

BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Wow. After the trade for Bouwmeester and this, exciting time for Blues fans. Good for them. Lookin' at you Kenny boy.
Paul MacLean's Mustache 44 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 I actually really like the deal for both teams. Miller wanted out and I think they received solid players in return and picks to use for a future build. You have to admire Doug Armstrong for really going after it this year. I know we're a bubble team this year and the risks associated with trading picks from this position, but it takes me back to the days Holland used to do the same. 1 haroldsnepsts reacted to this

kylee 727 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Good for Miller, Buffalo has drastically turned into hockey-Siberia the last few years. 1 MidMichSteve reacted to this
Jericho613 74 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Good for them, Ive never had much of a problem with teams like the Blues, Sharks, or Wild, so its been fun watching them in the West, especially possibly destroying the Ducks and Hawks. So any moves they make to dethrone the Hawks and Ducks, Im all for it,
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 The curse of the captain continues the last 3 three captains have all been traded after a few months. The only remaining veterans are Ehroff and Myers now. So their rebuild is going the Edmonton road very quickly
Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 The Blues just made the move that teams that want to and can win the SC make. There is the big difference between us and them. They are there, ready to win it all. We have work to do to get back to that level. 1 MidMichSteve reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,788 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Never thought Ryan Miller was all that great. The Blues are a Cup contender, but that's what I thought the last few years until they ran into LA. I can't imagine how annoying their fanbase will be if they actually win something. They're already so bad. 1 Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this

frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Army is building an unreal team down there, gritty tough an elite defense and goaltender and all that with a limited budget and without tanking huge respect for this work. Reaves, Backed and Ott the Hawks are toast now and I love it already Edited March 1, 2014 by frankgrimes
