Well we brought in that coach-dude to help. But yeah, the PP won't get any better until the guys on the blue line actually wake up.

Coaching has nothing to do with it. People always blamed Renney for the powerplay, but this team just doesn't frankly have the talent. No coach could make Helm and Quincey into powerplay specialists. One injury to a Datsyuk or a Zetterberg, and we're severely undermanned.

Helm on the PP sucks he just has no skill for that. Overall a strong period by the Wings. Just a couple bad plays and one of them costed us a goal. Z looks a lot more engaged which I am not surprised about at all, the kid line is fantastic, Danny D and Smith look extremely good together I think I am going to really like that pairing as the season goes on.

The PP needs some work but I am not worried its game 1. One thing I notice that is still killing us from last year is that we always seem to lose the faceoffs on our PP's so right away the other team is always able to clear the puck. Wings got to get better at that.

If the boys play like this all game we should end up with the W.

So funny watching people complain about their play already. It hasn't even been 20 minutes, and we've looked better than the Bruins so far, minus one bad decision by E.

Constructive criticism is not the same as complaining. Just because it's early doesn't mean we should hide our collective heads in the sand and pretend all the Wings problems have gone away. Will the team be better as the season goes on? We'll see, but as the team stands right now it's badly in need of offensive creativity. We had three glorious chances to score and all three went directly into the goaltender.

I agree. I'd like to see Quellet join the PP soon at least...

Why don't they teach one-timer slapshots from the blue line? These are professional athletes, it's not like they can't learn how to unload or carry the puck down the blue line. I wonder if this team has the absolute worst powerplay blue line in the entire league. I've certainly never seen worse.

1. Please stop with the Jimmy bashing. He's not a top 5 goalie, we all know that but our issue is and will continue to be defense. We really need two top top pair defensemen but once again Holland failed at making a deal. Oh...by the way, this will also help our offense once we replace Kindl/Lash and Quincey.

Share constructive criticism all you want, I do the same. Whats funny is that one minute you see posts flowing in about how quick the wings look and the upside and this and that, and as soon as ONE goal goes in, the opposite happens. I'd be willing to bet as soon as the Wings tie this and take the lead, people will go back to talking about their quickness and start planning the parade.

Fans are fickle by nature, it's just something I've grown used to.

Lidstrom and pasha would get tired.

There's a joke in there somewhere, but I don't think it would be appropriate for this forum.
