BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Two up with three to go and two games against Carolina. The Wings have no one to blame but themselves if they don't get in. Exactly @AnsarKhanMLive: Even a shootout win vs. Carolina Tuesday would clinch for Wings as long as Ottawa loses in regulation to Pittsburgh.
atodaso 279 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Exactly @AnsarKhanMLive: Even a shootout win vs. Carolina Tuesday would clinch for Wings as long as Ottawa loses in regulation to Pittsburgh. How about if we win both games against Carolina and hope that Pittsburgh loses to Ottawa and NYI?
pondrocket 35 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Why? He nabbed Cole and Zidlicky for us. Everyone was pretty universally happy when those trades went down, and it showed he was trying to improve this team for the playoffs. Zidlicky alone won us a few games. Personally I don't think either should be replaced, but I'd like to hear why you think the GM is more responsible for this slump than the coach. Because he has failed to ice competent D for 6 years. captain2005 32 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) How about if we win both games against Carolina and hope that Pittsburgh loses to Ottawa and NYI? Because seeing Detroit's luck so far, Ottawa beats Pittsburgh, then Pittsburgh wins their next two and bump us out. I'd rather just be satisfied and relaxed Tuesday night knowing they have clinched it. So go Cros, oh I can't even type it. Besides, at least then we could maybe watch Pittsburgh get swept in the first round. It's bulls*** that Ottawa can play like garbage all year long, and then ride a really hot goalie for the final stretch. That's what we tried to do with Mrazek and it didn't work for us. Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 The D will have a major overhaul this off season wether we get into the playoffs or not. I foresee at least 3 changes on the blue line for next season and we will ship out 2 of the current D corps. 1 wingfan1991 reacted to this

GoWings! 179 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Because he has failed to ice competent D for 6 years. We'll it certainly isn't for lack of trying. Holland definitely tried as best as he could for Shea Weber and then Ryan Suter. Edited April 6, 2015 by GoWings!
mvanpop 98 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Also Kindl had really shown potential until he just stopped and Ericsson was pretty solid last year and he wasn't our first concern in the off season. However he really news to be at least moved down a pairing

Figures that Washington s***s the bed the night before but then pulls things together to beat the Wings.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 They actually didn't play all that bad. This was definitely not one of the most frustrating games to watch. If there is such a thing as a "normal" loss, this was it. Wouldn't be concerning except that they're once again battling for a bottom playoff spot. 2 roboturner and PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this
kipwinger 8,755 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Jesus, I just watched the highlights. Tom Wilson had a rough game eh? Zidlicky wiped him out with a low(ish) hit and then he blocked Dekeyser's slapshot with the back of his neck. Yeesh! The goals against weren't terrible. The first one is flukey, and the second one is just sort of what Ovechkin and Green do. And they're REALLY good at it.
GoWings! 179 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Wings started off weak as usual. Put themselves in a 2-0 hole. Battled back. Tatar hit the post on a powerplay after we failed on a 5 on 3. Everyone thought it went in. We went on a late rush in the final minutes and Holtby made the big saves. That was pretty much yesterday's game.

GoWings! 179 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Tatar has been strange lately. I noticed he hasn't put himself in the right positions to score even though the passes are making it to him. He seems a bit nervous lately and his passing has been off. He's been making some critically bad passes. And he's hitting posts. Hope he gets going cause he is someone we are gonna need now down this stretch here. 1 canadian wings fan reacted to this
pondrocket 35 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 That's what we're blaming the slump on now? lol It is what many have been saying ALL year. We'll it certainly isn't for lack of trying. Holland definitely tried as best as he could for Shea Weber and then Ryan Suter. I agree that he has tried; & he is in a tough position balancing the assets he trades away versus the assets he gets in return. Those are the decisions he is paid to make. This summer will be 7 years, 70% of a decade, if he doesn't at least bring in help for the top 4. Nothin happins until he does.

They are playing great hockey. All over the ice. Not just in goal. Did you see them play us last week? We couldn't even clear the zone.

He's an on the edge type of player so that doesn't surprise me. I like Wilson though. I see a lot of Caps games because I live down here, and they've got a handful of players I really like. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 He kind of deserved it. The Zidlicky hit was retaliation and he had done some other cheap shots too. He absolutely deserved it. The hit on Zidlicky was high and could've been penalized. Instead the zebras penalize Zidlicky for a good hip check because they don't know what one looks like anymore. It's one thing to crash and bang but Wilson seems to throw his fair share of high hits or ones where he comes in with his elbow swinging into the body, like the one on Dats.
