Putin put a team together that had Alex ovechkin, evgeni Malkin, Pavel bure, Slavs fetisov, and a bunch of other professional/ex professional hockey players to defeat a child's team.

The kids must've been pretty excited though, getting railed by your idols so the leader of the country can pretend to be able to play hockey.

It's fun for the kids. I just wish someone would have locked Putin in the penalty box, he's got no business out there. I've seen videos on russian tv where they praise Putin's offensive ability. Even when you can clearly see everyone getting out of the way and letting him score. It's like letting a child win, so his feelings aren't hurt. Or in this case so they aren't sent to Siberia to teach hockey to polar bears.

I think it must be awesome for the kids, who wouldn't like to be on the ice with their favorite players. Having a politician involved is the only downside but other than that I'm sure the kids were very happy although Kovalchuck is the worst excuse of a so called leader ever.
