Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) So JOHANSEN gets dealt to Nasville for Seth Jones, any winners on this or would you call it even.? Auto spell check, lol Preds ! Edited January 7, 2016 by Andy Pred
MasterPavel 115 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 I actually think Nashville got the better end of the deal. Seth Jones to me is more Tyler Myers than Shea Weber. Nashville in return got a young #1 centerman who in that system will put up 70+ points.
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Seth Jones at first will turn out to be a second pairing defenseman at best he could become a Shea Weber light which is still very good. As far Johansen the guy has all the tools to become an absolute stud as a number 1 center. Nashville received a huge upgrade to their offense while giving up some depth of somethng they are already loaded with, good defenders. Coloumbus has improved their defense in a great way but they'll now spend years and years searching another rugged number 1 center...and we've all seen how easy that is. 3 Wings_Toledo, krsmith17 and PavelValerievichDatsyuk reacted to this
amato 3,210 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Wow, go preds. I think they win for sure.. especially given the depth of their defense.

Johansen is far from a "rugged" #1 center. His effort level is inconsistent at best and downright terrible at times. If things don't go well in Nashville I bet we'll see the same attitude problems arise. And good luck to Nashville when his contract year comes up... So JOHANSEN gets dealt to Nasville for Seth Jones, any winners on this or would you call it even.? Auto spell check, lol Preds ! I'd call it even if both players thrive for their new teams. Jones is kind of an unknown still but helps out a CBJ team lacking good D. Johansen has tons of skill but his attitude is a problem. Not a lopsided trade, for sure. frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 it's funny how the conditioning only became a problem during the contract negotiations isn't it? Personally I find it much easier to believe that the jackets front office was pissed of that Johansen wanted to get paid a fair amount and then they've decided to go the public shaming and his condition sucks road. I mean Tortarella seems to live picking internal fights with players but hey jackets keep doing it Jenner would look fantastic in red and white as would Rychel. I feel sorry for Jones he has nobody to shield him in Columbus so he will be expected to save their defense as a 20 y old
PredsFanTheBayouState 263 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 how interesting that johansen and jones happened to meet each other in columbus airport after being traded for one another http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2016/1/7/10732320/ryan-johansen-and-seth-jones-meet-at-columbus-airport-after-being 1 amato reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 I've never heard of the Blue Jackets referred to as Jax. Does this have anything to do with the Mortal Kombat character?

Jones is going to be relied upon a lot but he'll actually get playing time to develop his game. Now if only Torts would stop changing up the lines every game, they might start to find some chemistry. joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 I can't believe Tortarella is still coaching in the NHL. The guy completely dismantled that Canucks team that was winning Presidents trophies
amato 3,210 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 I've never been a big fan of torts either but CBJ has a roster geared much more toward his style of coaching than Vancouver did imo. I blame his lack of success in Vancouver as much on it being a bad hire as I do on torts.

Trading Luongo, Schnieder and hiring Torts. Was just a messBut Tortarella has caused problems with players every where he goes. So much so they have to trade them away. That cannot be good for a team ever Edited January 8, 2016 by joesuffP

Also, he can be pretty entertaining at least

Wings_Toledo 233 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 His thing is that he's not afraid to call out players by name to the media. If players just realized that and didn't take it as an insult then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I wonder who else may be leaving Columbus, though. Torts and Hartnell haven't gotten along this season. 1 amato reacted to this

Torts and Hartnell haven't gotten along this season. And that's something nobody would like. I mean how would Ron Wilson or John Tortarella like being called out in the media? Not very much I guess and it's the same with the players. I mean there are tons of coaches who I'm sure don't get along well with every playero n their team but at the same time they don't call them out and try to make them better and to me that's the way to go. Because calling out your players in the public does only one thing: decrease their value and players getting pissed of asking for trades.
vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 Torts' coaching prowess or lack thereof is not the subject at hand. Let's get back to the trade, shall we?
