Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted April 1, 2016 I'm usually pro Ericsson just because of how negative everyone is towards him I don't think he's that bad but switching him and Smith could be a pivotal moment for the defense. They have been completely awful down the stretch and with Marchenko up as a shut down guy I think we need smith in the lineup. Sitting Ericsson might smarten everyone up Ericsson is pretty decent on his forehand, with about 1 second to make a decision when moving the puck up in our zone. Unfortunately, he doesn't have that luxury in the NHL. And not in the AHL mostly. And not in the Swedish elite league. Both AHL and SHL has become faster, making big E obsolote. Guess he can't be moved at all even if we were to retain 75% of his salary.
Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Just a quick addon. I've been looking at what's required for us to make the playoffs as in who needs to win and loose this last stretch and it fried my grey matter. Literally. I found a nice video about timelines in the Terminator movie series that sort of gets the point across. Fair to say, our chances are slim in case you don't want to watch. Scroll to about 3 minutes for a depicting allegory of my meltdown regarding our playoff chances. Edited April 1, 2016 by Jacksoni

Larktha7139 6 Report post Posted April 2, 2016 Ether way, we control our destiny, we win our games were in, we lose were out.... We don't need to hope teams take care of business for us.... We play Boston... We can do our own dirty work and insure that we are in....
Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted April 2, 2016 The Leafs are starting Sparks tonight. Bernier had a 1.92 GAA, and .938 Sv% in March, which includes his shutout against Detroit. It sure feels like Babcock is throwing the Wings a softball here. 1 amato reacted to this

Aethernum 276 Report post Posted April 2, 2016 We've lost 5 shootouts. Win one of those and we're tied with Boston right now. Philly could say the same thing about their eight shootout losses. Well...not the same thing, they wouldn't be tied with Boston, but a similar thing... Oh God. You know how we like to make nobody goalies into stars. Right. If anything, I'd say this isn't Babcock throwing us a bone - this is him playing deliberately into the stupid things he knows we always do.

Let's make both sides happy.
Travco 11 Report post Posted April 3, 2016 I'm really hoping to overtake Boston, nobody wants the Caps in the first round. Also Boston missing the playoffs 2 years in a row would be so delightful. 2 RedWingsRox and Jacksoni reacted to this

Barrie 900 Report post Posted April 3, 2016 After Boston's loss against Chicago we get:National Hockey League Playoff ChancesDetroit +8.0, Boston -8.9 Did you get that from a website, or are you just guessing? Wings were 48.8% going into the game, Boston was 70.5% http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html If we're at 56.8% now, that makes sense, but Boston has to be under 50% after losing to the Black Hawks, unless I'm missing something. We have two games on the road and three in four, including a back to back. Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted April 3, 2016 Yep was just about to say that. You can disregard those stats. Boston should be a clear favorite to make the playoffs. All games at home. No back-to-back.
