A few take aways:

1) Puemple is begging to be brought up and play with Larkin and Athanasiou. Ehn is voodoo rolling him in Hope's he gets the same shot.

2) Camper, go find another team.  #19?  Are you serious.  That number is RETIRED in the state of MI.

3) Zadina, you have big shoes to fill choosing #11.  Get Hollands cell programmed, bud.

He wants to play 3 more years past his expiration date.

5 games in and Zadina leads a very stanky Griffins team in points.

Also, Givani Smith is lazy and he sucks

I was at the game last night, that assist Zadina got was the result of a really good backcheck. That was the only positive thing I took away, Griffins are on the struggle bus right now. I have a feeling Lashoff returning and the addition of Sulak will be a pretty big help though.

I imagine Hronek and Hickketts will join them at some point as well.

That team is nothing without Lashoff

Veleno now has 17 pts in 10 games with his junior team

Yup, another two goals last night. 4th in points, 3rd in points per game in the Q. Assuming he stays healthy, he'll definitely finish top 3. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he finishes number one. The thing I find surprising though is that so far he's been putting up more goals (9) than assists (8). That may be a sign that he's having to do a bit more on his own. Really looking forward to see what he can do with better players (scorers), against the best of his age group when he suits up for team Canada at the WJC.

Veleno - 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists) in 11 games. 1.55 points per game (ranked 3rd in the Q)

McIsaac - 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 6 games. 1.17 points per game (ranked 2nd among defensemen)

Halifax (McIsaac) vs. Drummondville (Veleno) today at 3:00 EST for anyone that's interested. I'll be tuning in.

So he's meh as of now, yah?

Yeah, definitely not a great start, but keep in mind, he's only 18 years old, playing in arguably the 2nd or 3rd best league in the world. Much higher competition than even the AHL. He'd probably be a point per game (or better) player in the CHL, and close to that in NCAA. The Swedish Elite League is a very strong league.

Do you feel like he is getting better?

No idea. I've never seen him play a minute live, only highlights.

Here are some stats to check out. Some players are ones available in 2019 draft.

I'm a big fan of Seth Barton. Reminds me a lot of Cholowski. Good to see Regula putting up some points too.

As for next year's draft, I'm still team Cozens (if we don't win the lottery), but Dach seems to be off to a hot start as well.

The one player I don't want to draft, admittedly for a dumb reason, is Kaapo Kakko. The last thing this team needs is another left-handed winger... This is of course who we will draft...

I just don't want to have to say Kaapo Kakko.

Some people think Jack Hughes will ultimately become a full-time winger.

I'm one of those people... But I'm okay with adding another left-handed winger if he's "elite" or a "franchise changing" winger. Hughes on Larkin's wing would be unreal. I'm not as worried about our center position, because I believe Larkin / Veleno will be a very solid 1-2 punch down the middle.

I'm all for upgrading at any position. For example, if Kakko is the BPA after Hughes (not saying he will be - just hypothetical) and projects to be a better winger Zadina, Mantha, AA, Bertuzzi, etc, do you not take the kid?

If we end up drafting 2nd overall and there's a significant drop off between the 2nd and 3rd ranked prospects, then sure, take BPA. But if they're relatively close, go with need. I know this team needs to upgrade pretty much every position, but we do have a surplus of left-shot wingers. I'd prefer the big right-shot forward or defenseman over the left-shot winger. I think we're going to win the draft lottery though, so it's a moot point...

I know that if you get the #1, you take Hughes, no question. But, you know teams will be calling. What offer would you accept for Hughes? It'd have to be huge for sure!

Crosby straight up?
