The patience for a few things is at this point.

I KNOW! I get especially impatient when I think a goalie is hurt and I get excited because bashing said goalie for said reasons fits in with my narrative and then it turns out he's not hurt that bad. What. a. downer.

Also, I get impatient with losing because we don't have elite talent because of Helm's contract. This also sucks.

I don't think he will be one of them. He could've went somewhere else in free agency in the off season if he wanted to but decided to re sign in Detroit. I don't know what other offers were out there but I would assume they were comparable to what he got from other teams better than the Wings.

Probably went for a special back alley rub down. Rub and Tizzug. ( Trailer park boys reference )

Agreed. And he has a NTC. He wants to be here. He isn't going to waive it. He isn't going anywhere.

I would love one our stats gurus to tell me what our record is with and without Green. I'm guessing we have barely won a game without him. He eats minutes, he plays special teams and he MOVE THE DAMN PUCK.

I did my own research quickly. We are 13-8-2 with Green in the lineup and 1-8-3 without. That is a pretty telling stat.

Thanks for looking this up. Green was a great re-sign which is why I was pushing for it even before the TDL last year. There were quite a few folks who didn't want him brought back tho IIRC.

Why did we sign Bernier?

Because goalies who are now on their 5th NHL team at age 30 are always worth signing for 3 years. To be fair though, his career numbers aren't bad at all, even during the time he spent in Toronto. This is by far the worst season of his career.

I'll be pi$$ed if he isn't in the Hockey HoF within the next 4 years.

Same. What's keeping him out is never having won the Vezina, I think. He has the career numbers and Cup wins. Plus, besides (most) Wings fans, people don't think of him as being anything more than a goalie who was good enough behind great teams. Which isn't true at all. Unfortunately, flash at the position and individual awards mean more than they should.

There's a double standard for goalies in the HoF...You'll find forwards, and Dmen who are in, but have never won the Cup, and there seems to be a lot more 'hardware'  (aka awards) available for a skater to win than the netminder.

This idea that he never won the Vezina should exclude him from the HoF is silly...CuJo should get in too, but never came close to the Cup (but many feel he's worthy while Ozzie is not)...Belfour won the Cup once...I'm preaching to the choir here...Just really irritating how good Ozzie was, and many don't seem to acknowledge it.

Absolutely a double standard. Ozzie had a winning record everywhere he played, won three Cups (two as starter), five WC titles (three as starter). The Vezina shouldn't matter at all, but somehow it seems to. Ozzie is more HOF worthy than Cujo because of the Championships, but he's another great goalie that may never get in. No Cups, no Vezinas, although he's considered one of the top five of his era. The other four (Brodeur, Hasek, Roy, Belfour) are in the HOF. It's pretty stupid.

For everyone saying osgood should be in the hof,  I'm just going to leave this here

Osgood–Schlatter disease (OSD), also known as apophysitis of the tibial tubercle, is inflammation of the patellar ligament at the tibial tuberosity. It is characterized by a painful bump just below the knee that is worse with activity and better with rest.
