What would it take to get Provorov out of Philadelphia? Or Heiskanen out of Dallas?
I know it's a major pipedream (never going to happen), but imagine either of those guys on the top pair with Sieder for the next 12+ years...

I've gotta think they're both pretty much untouchable. Certainly Heiskanen is.

I think it's criminal Hicketts has not seen more NHL ice than he has. He is certainly no worse than half the guys on the roster right now. Give him a few months. See what we have.

You could say that about 4 guys in GRs as well.

No doubt, but we don't wanna get too good right now. Because Lafreniere. But Hicketts is a guy running out of options. Time to see if he has a future here or not.

We gotta play the old boys so they have value at the deadline.

At least his energy and willingness to hit would make the games less awful to watch.

I'm just messing with ya, bois. I've always rooted for "G.I." Joe Hicketts and will continue to do so. I doubt he has much of a future in the NHL, but, like you've said, it's about time we found out for sure. His skating is a problem and it's always going to be a problem, but maybe he has it in him to lock down a regular role as a PK specialist or something.

I think Blashill is right to say that he brings a swagger to the table that every team needs and which our team is almost completely lacking. Granted, swagger will only get you so far (he was awful against Carolina and not a whole lot better against Florida), but at least he adds something different to the mix. Daley is Old Guy Who Does Dumb Things. Green is Old Guy Who Does Dumb Things. Cholowski is Young Guy Who Does Dumb Things. Hicketts gives us Smol Guy Who Does Dumb Things. Variety is the spice of life.

Holland f***ed up 2 years ago by not scratching Green at the trade deadline. Went and got hurt at a time we were expected to get a 1st for him.

Might as well just re-sign him again

The Seattle Xay-Commies will select Joe Hicketts in the expansion draft.

He will lead the team in points by a Dman and quarterback Seattle into the finals his first year.

Yzerman will be sacked and homeless before 2022.

Real homeless or like the pretend homeless that stand on street corners panhandling?

You're not really homeless until you have a drug-dealer/poverty-pimp who picks you up in an Escalade so he can drop you at the nearest exit ramp to panhandle until you have enough money to buy another 8 ball from him.

@krsmith17 Buuuut it's not like those are the only two fish in the sea.

I guess the only question that really matters is "What would you be willing to part with?" (Or, "How badly do you want that unicorn defenseman?")

I'd like to think AA + Cholowski + Hirose could land us a guy like Provorov or Hanifin...but I'm guessing the ask would be closer to Mantha/Bertuzzi + pick/prospect. Worth it? Possibly.

Joe Hicketts sucks.  Did anybody watch that sequence last night there he was knocked off the puck in the defensive zone three times in one shift by the same guy?  Literally wasted an entire shift in our zone because our defender couldn't protect the puck and advance it.  Anybody who thinks he's better than Daley or Green is delusional.  While both those guys are bad, they are at least functional against NHL caliber hockey players.

Why are you completely biased against small players? Hockey At Every Size #HAES

I was too busy crying about how much Madison Bowey sucks to notice that sequence. But I believe you.

I like the way Erne and Biega play, solid bottom tier guys who would be good in depth roles on a better team, not sure about Perlini yet.

Nemeth - Hronek
Cholowski - Green
Hicketts - Biega

Would be my lineup right now

This. Let the 6th spot be between Bowey and Hicketts any given night. Playing them together is absurd. Kids like Hicketts will make mistakes. At least play them with someone useful.

Erne suck. Ehn sucks. de la Rose sucks. Biega sucks. Hicketts sucks. None of these guys (maybe Erne, 4th line winger) crack the roster of any of the 16 playoff teams. They're awful.

Perlini is actually half decent (size, speed, skill). Put him with some skilled players and he'd produce.
