Babs is no exception - the 'mind games' with Franzen, and Marner should make many GMs concerned about having him on board.

I'll continue to make the same argument I made when the NHL lil SJW ME TOO movement started. Babs yelled at Franzen, and asked Marner who on the team doesn't work hard. Those are his crimes. It's so mild and overblown that I want to put on my Joaquin Phoenix clown paint, honk my nose, and squirt everyone with my plastic flower. If you can't handle reasonably tough questions and being yelled at you don't belong in the NHL. People act like he water-boarded his players. It's all incredibly laughable. I agree with you on how 'soft' society has become in the past decade - however that's the world we live in. Some guys can deal with a coach like Babs (Hank/Dats/Lids/Cleary/Ozzie/etc), and some do not...I could only imagine what life was like in a dressing room back when guys Bowman/Keenan/Crawford were running things. How bout not wanting Babcock back because he's not always the best coach for the job? 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
mackel 767 Report post Posted January 31, 2020 Read an article on the Athletic yesterday on Turk Gallant... says he's in no rush to jump right back into coaching. That may mesh well with our timeline for dumping Trashill... but it also meshes well with Seattle's timeline.

Through the reports of the Red Wings players trying to get Babs fired, the one I end up respecting the most in the situation is Holland. If a few employees banded together and went over my head to the President to try and get me fired, the Prez would listen to their complaints, then immediately call me to tell me what they said, and that I either need to can them or crack the whip harder and get my department under control. Players are drama nerds and should be beaten

That's easy: that he was the man I swear management could have used reverse psychology on him: Hey Babs, whatever you do, don't play Mathews in the last 10 minutes of game seven. That's an order! 2 krsmith17 and F.Michael reacted to this

Since the narrative has shifted from "Larkin is becoming an elite 1C" to "Larkin is defensive shutdown center" we should probably hire Babs. All this guy does is coach elite shutdown centers. This. Do we honestly wanna see Neilsen and Abby playing 20 minutes a night? Because that's what we'd get with Babcock. Lack of talent + injuries on a team with lack of depth = outmatched most nights and left scrambling, which leads to lots and lots of mistakes. That isn't coaching. When I was at the fan meet and greet during the preseason this fall my son started crying and Blash picked him up right out of my hands, unbuttoned his shirt, and started breast-feeding him right there on the spot. Great guy. 1 derblaueClaus reacted to this

My eyes tell me the team looks unprepared - they look sloppy...I agree this team lacks talent, and I may be going out on a limb here, but I feel either Gallant/Laviolette could do more with this roster...At least look like an NHL club.
