Kucherov will have a boo boo hip exactly until the playoffs start and the cap no longer matters. Blues conveniently get their worst contract in Steen to be finished. Isles conveniently get their worst contract in Boychuck to be finished. Benefits to having doctors on the payroll. When I was in college a friend of mine worked in the Athletics department. It was part of his job to hush hush deliver money to players on the football team. This type of shady stuff is way more common than I think anyone realizes. Steen and Boychuck are doing their teams favors. I'm sure they're taken care of in a variety of ways in exchange. New nickname yet again huh lol

kipwinger 8,756 Report post Posted December 21, 2020 If I were a team up against the Cap I'd do the exact same thing. It's a shortened season. Why not let Lundqvist or Kucherov or whomever sit out for (basically) half a season to fix some nagging injury rather than lose a bunch of assets?
LeftWinger 5,130 Report post Posted December 21, 2020 Yep, they will all find a way to not trade anyone. I guess we just hold out and see what we get at the TDL for whomever we can trade...
town123 232 Report post Posted December 24, 2020 So we wait a year. Big whoop. More than one team will be tight to the cap next year, so save our cap room and play the long game. .The top 3 (at this point ) for the 2022 Draft are far more appealing than 2021. Wright, Lambert and Savoie? We just need to suck and get lucky for a wee bit longer and cash in on a good cap deal.... patience grasshopper. 1 WRusco reacted to this
