If Raymond gets 80, then Perron only gets 20 pts by the deadline instead of 40.  Then we dont get anything for Perron, and we have to pay Raymond Debrincat money.  Not gonna happen.

He's a soon to be 36 year old winger. We're prolly getting a 3rd for him. Im much more interested in developing Raymond than showcasing Perron.

If Perron scores 20 goals, he is getting a 2nd. Veteran, Cup winning, RH winger who brings leadership, experience, and secondary scoring will have no shortage of interested trade partners looking to add him for the playoffs.

you underestimate a playoff GM during the trade frenzy. They tend to overpay.

You said the same thing when I said Leddy would get us a 2nd. And he did. And Walman, and Sundqvist.

Imagine nerfing a player's development to polish up an old player for the trade deadline. Scott must have all the best drugs.

Oh so NOW "development" happens in the NHL?  According to you a few days ago, this happens in the AHL.  Which is it?  Raymond is not in need of development.  He's a full time NHL regular.  If he gets the good minutes, he will score 80 pts and be in a position to get Debrincat type money.  If he scores 45 pts on the third line, and Perron and Sprong get his 35 extra points, he will get signed for Michael Rasmussen type money.  AND Perron and Sprong will present as bettet trade chips.  Given that Yzerman had already hinted at this team not being ready for playoff runs, I'd say there's a strong chance Raymond spends a lot of time with Copp and Berggren on the 3rd line until February.  After the deadline, Raymond will be in the top 6.

Ahh, so there is zero growth and development in players once they reach the NHL. Got it.

Development doesn't stop. Great players are always looking to grow and improve. Players develop in junior/college/AHL/overseas until they reach a point where they can produce in the NHL. From there, they continue to work on their game. This is how they become great players. I can write it in crayon for you if you still have trouble understanding.

On July 1st. Wings have more than 20 mil in cap space with Seider, Raymond, Veleno, Ras, Berg to sign as RFAs. Doesn't leave much to sign any high end free agents to replace Perron, Gost, and Fischer.

Capfriendly.com shows just under $31M for next season.

Pretty sure the Winnipeg deals are just desperation contracts and won't affect us in any way.  Who really wants to live there?  Love the city, but their winters are crappier than Buffalo and summers are only for people who love getting bit multiple times by mosquitos the size of Texas.

Dahlin for 11 per?    Faukc.    Seider's camp definitely thanking the Sabres for this.

Darnell Nurse already did that.

I wonder how long it will be before teams just dress 17 higher paid players instead of 20.  I mean, it almost seems like teams are getting HURT by having to spread out money.

9 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goalies.  The (2) times each period where there arent any whistles in 4 minutes of play, you roll your 3rd D pair with a double shifted center as your 4th line.

Is there a rule against a team doing this?  NBA teams have 12 man rosters and typically only play 7 or 8 guys a game.  I think hockey has 19 guys playing each game only because of tradition.
