Sadly he isn't falling anywhere close to 15th overall, He won't get past Calgary at number 9.

Hage or MDN will be a Red Wing, I could really see Hage as our future 2C with Nate Danielson on the wing. Plus Hage is heading for Michigan a perfect fit and can watch him develop in our own neighborhood.

Agreed.  I think we're going to need to give up Johansson, Berggren, and our 1st to move up in the 6-8 range.  Not sure if that's worth it.  Tempting, though.

If Yzerman trades up hes not getting in the 6-8 range. If Catton is falling outside of the top 10 he should be the target in a trade up imo. He could be the best player in this class outside of Celebrini would be a top 3 pick if he was a few inches taller. I think Yzerman stays at 15 and takes MBN.

What do we think of the enigma Trevor Connelly? No chance Yzerman picks him but hes a heck of a player if he can put it all together. Probably a top 5 pick if he didnt come with all the baggage.

When he was 14, he was suspended from Bishop Kearney High School following an incident where he allegedly responded to hazing and humiliation at the hands of his teammates by urinating on another player's equipment.^[1]

In 2022, while playing for the Long Island Gulls, 16-year-old Connelly posted a picture to Snapchat of him and a teammate posing in what appears to be a library with a swastika built out of children's blocks, captioned "creations". He quickly removed the post and apologized, stating that he did not understand the extent to which his actions would be hurtful, but was removed from the team. He has since participated in diversity training and community service, and received mentoring from a rabbi.^[1]

On another occasion, Connelly was accused of and suspended for using racial slurs during a match, but he denied the allegation and the suspension was overturned when the league could not find any evidence that the incident occurred.^[5]

I dont understand this. I dont think Yzerman will do it but theres def much reason for him to trade up. Having the deepest prospect pool in the league but not having any elite talent in that pool is why hed do it. Id be fine with MBN/Hage/Greentree at 15 but why not pony up extra assets which they have more then theyll ever need and get a Catton/Eiserman? I dont know how many times it needs to be said but Quality > Quantity.

15+47+Berg/AJo for 10/11/12 if a player like Catton falls makes a lot of sense imo.

Saw these draft day trade options in an article and I'd have to say, I'd do all of them. 

 

 

 

Obviously you couldn't trade the 15th twice, but Philly would probably still do this deal with the 18th Detroit got from Chicago.

 

 

Detroit ends up with Gustavsson, Rossi, Guentzel, Jeanotte, AND the 12th overall pick. (Along with various later picks.) Might could even still afford Kane, Perron and Roy.
