The Wings need this to happen. Show some heart

I know, right?! Remember that big bench clearing brawl the Islanders had last year that really jump started that stellar run of theirs to the cup last year!

We've never won a cup in the salary cup era without Samuelsson :ninja:

#2339770 Zetterberg named Captain, 36th Captain in Red Wings History

Anyone suggesting Helm wear any letter on his sweater, have you ever actually heard the man talk? Don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite Wings, but he has about the equal intelligence of a dinner plate... There is more to a "C" or an "A" than just work ethic and team play...

I've missed him...

#2339618 Wings give Mike Knuble a tryout

Posted by stevkrause on 12 January 2013 - 10:38 PM

Abby is a natural winger and plays better in that role, furthermore, Knuble has a career 50+ percent faceoff record, something, as a team, we were horrible at last year... as evidence by the amount of time Emmerton got on the ice last year, Babs prefers a natural center at that role and if my choices are Knuble or Emmerton, I'll take Knuble every time...

Did I mention he's a right hand shot?

I wouldn't want to see him just given a spot, but on a 2-way contract, why not...

#2339064 Would you trade Jimmy Howard for an elite forward/defenseman?

Posted by stevkrause on 10 January 2013 - 01:45 PM

Honestly, normally my answer to trading away a legit NHL starting netminder would be no... With that said, I think Mrazek is going to be an absolute star in the NHL, so although I wouldn't propose such a trade, I wouldn't be opposed to it either as long as it was under the understanding that Mrazek was being brought up...

I will be boycotting live games for at least 2 years and will not buy NHL merchandise either.

#2338073 Which players will get bought out?

Posted by stevkrause on 07 January 2013 - 12:28 AM

All of you proposing, or suggesting, Franzen be bought out have lost your damn minds. He STILL scored 29 goals last year and led the team, on a down year, AND his cap hit is less than 4m a year... Take a look around the league at comparable contracts... Kenny would be certifiably INSANE to buy out his contract and just give him a TON of money to NOT play here... this isn't just cap space, this is real money and this is still a business... Furthermore, I GUARANTEE teams would trade for him, if for nothing more that a low draft pick (and even that is an insane suggestion) if we truly just wanted him gone, so why in the hell would we buy him out?!? Suggestions like this really make me think some people on this board have been enjoying recreational drugs WAYYYY too much...

#2337527 Which players will get bought out?

Some of these suggestions are clear indications that a LOT of posters here live in make believe world... No team eats a MASSIVE amount of money, JUST to get under the cap, wastes their buyout on a guy who has an expiring contact before the cap goes down, or a guy that has a modest contract... the only obvious ones are Gomez, Thomas or DiPietro (if he were on a normal team, but it's the NYI, so they'll probably give him a bonus)

Honorable mention to Leino, Redden, Jagr...

This kid is the real deal. Howard and Gustavsson better perform because Mrazek will be coming for there jobs, soon.

He might even be coming for their jobs :ninja:
