Frustrating

Smith not a fan of the penalties. 

I like how he's well spoken in his interview and actually knows where his sentences are going and doesn't use the usual hockey player uh, I uh, we gotta uh play some uh defence uh ya, what was the, uh question?  god I hate those interviews.

that was interference?  he just got rid of the puck and Smith took him into the boards.  that play used to be called "defence"

I'm gonna pretend Datsyuk is going to play forever like I did with Nick and just deal with that very horrible day when it comes.

I hope he plays longer than Chelios.  He makes me happy, what can I say.

Ok Michigan won, but as I was watching they mentioned it is a best of 3 series. So at least 1 more game. But the same questions are there. if WMU is out of the CCHA this weekend, is their season done? if so Dekeyser gets signed when?

Hopefully after they lose whatever game ends their season, Dekeyser gets notice from his coach that Ken Holland is on the line with a contract ready to sign.

 
The possibility of Nyquist at center popped into my head, but I'm not sure they'll go that route unless they really have to. He played some center in Maine, if I'm not mistaken.

Though, TBH, I'm not even sure Nyquist will be on the Wings next season. I see Cleary and Miller leave, and Tatar and Andersson taking their spots. I think the season after, with Bert and Sammy leaving, is when Nyquist will be on the team permanently. 

He's got his shot rigt now. I have a feeling that if he doesn't sjow he can be NHL ready rifht now that he may be trade bait for a team who needs a playmaker

On topic, I feel like he's all but gone. As someone mentioned, when's the last time we heard a funny quip/quote from Dats? It feels like he's already got a foot out the door. Without signing Flip (who wants 5 mil???), we're going to have a big void at the C position.

Until they make Nyquist a centremen to make up the 3rd line next year with Tatar and Andersson?  I smell that coming for some reason.

Howard is 28 yrs old, in his prime and already we have someone talking about replacing him down the road.. unbelievable. 

 

Mrazek has years away to be considered a starting goaltender. Gust will have one more here then let go and should be (although wish we could send him down now). Mrazek and McCollum will have a chance to audition for the backup role. 

 Howard is in his prime, yes, and is a legit #1 goalie and top 5-7 in the league.  sign him until he's 34-35....yes please.

 

Mrazek is a couple years away likely.  If he turns out to be a showstopper in a year or 2, we have a nasty G tandem, which we haven't had in....?  Someone fill this blank_________  Or we have an option to move one for other needed assets, like a top 6 goal scorer.

 

McCollum couldn't prove himself useful in the AHL.  His audition has come and gone.

I for one NEVER want to see Datsyuk play for any NHL team that is not the Red Wings. Ever!

The Red Wings kryptonite is a relatively low skill team that....

1. Skates hard the entire game
2. Hits a Red Wing player EVERY chance they get
3. Gives them NO space in all three zones

 

Forecheck and backcheck the hell out of this team and they turn to jello.

 

Nashville perfected it. Calgary and Columbus have embraced it.

Agreed with both.  Get Brunner on with Dats.  Wings should call Dallas and see what it would take to get Loui Eriksson to play with Z and Franzen.  That line was awesome in the WC and Franzen played great too.  that's about the only way I would trade Nyquist is if we got a player of that caliber back.

Iginla would look awesome in a Wings jersey on Dats' wing.

Wings always seem to score the most goals in the 3rd period.  I guess that's why we complain often that they don't play 60 mins lol.
