Ah, it was Z to Dats. Nice find dude. That was such an awesome goal. Those 2 have more than a top 10 together, and that's a good reason why they should never be split up. Make some other guys step up. If we don't have enough point getters to fill a top 6 with Dats and Z on the same line, that needs to be remedied.
It's impossible for me to watch that Yzerman game 7 double OT winner and not get goosebumps. I'm ready, drop the puck.
I watched that video right before the OT where Goose got the winner in OT. It just felt like the right thing to do.
Why oh why is this game at 10PM on a Sunday?! This league will always be second rate, because they pull crap like this. Want people to watch your sport, how about putting big games at a reasonable start time for everyone.
I was thinking the same thing. If it were in Detroit, we'd be tuning in in likely 1-2 hours. Bushleague Ducks.....bushleague!
Side note though, I texted my boss and got tomorrow off work
Thoughts? I think checking is an integral part of hockey. To remove it would further soften an already softening game. I'm all for the reduction of concussions/injuries, of course, but banning checking is a pretty big step.
Hitting should be in hockey from the age of 7. Kids should learn it and live it from an early age so as to learn it clean. Peewee kids are so excited to start hitting that they're all going for the Kronwalling in the middle of the ice. If they start hitting when they start playing hockey, you won't see the kids getting all riled up to kill eachother once the hitting starts. I remember Peewee when I started hitting, and I was a small kid....I got charged at a lot. Kids need to be brought up as clean checkers, not thrown into the fire when they're almost teenagers.
Bad move Alberta.
Impact is impact, and TBIs are especially bad news for a developing brain.
Your analogy to football is fundamentally incorrect. If tackling were to be removed from football, the game would no longer function. If hitting were removed from hockey, the sport would still function perfectly; it would just be less entertaining. See women's Olympic hockey for details.
Please don't make us watch womens hockey . Nothing against women, but their hockey is slow and boring.
The Wings are full of rookies and in a short season where you don't have nearly as much time to practice between games so the rookies have less time to mature and learn from their mistakes. They were basically thrown into the fire. To have 5 guys out there at once that are rookies, the only actual bad play there was Andersson not being on his guy in the first place and tying him up, or at the least getting down and blocking the shot. Aside from that, the line of Brunner-Andersson-Nyquist has been far and away our most consistent and exciting line to watch. They hustle and create chances and they have chemistry. That line should stick together through next year for sure. They'll mature together and will hopefully turn into the best 3rd line in the NHL. The only thing we need to do now is beef up the top 6 with 2 more legit scorers.
This has been a great series, we have been fortunate to stay in it as the Ducks seemed to push and pull as we have been. It all came down to a best of three and they have 1. WE have Abby on the way back so Im sure he'll be back on 1 so with the thought of 4 strong centers in mind this is my thought...
Franzen Datsyuk Abdelkader
Sammy Zetterberg Brunner
Nyquist Filpulla Bert
Eaves Andersson Tatar (in for the injured Clear-fingers crossed)
Man I wish Tatar was in the line up so bad. Ice the best team you can with the players you have....that would include Tatar.
Andersson needs to crush Perry on the boards there. Nicef****** turn of events. Terrible PP and now it'sf****** tied. Way to lose all intensity cause you assholes think you have forever to make something happen. If we lose this game and the series, that will be where we look back to.
Wow that would be pretty amazing to see all them join up for a beer league. Bet they all had a blast I'm a little jealous.
For me, a little jealous is a huge understatement. Those guys are so lucky. That'll be a game they'll never forget. Imagine the excited dads going home and telling their kids, dad just played hockey with Ozzy, Drapes, Malts and Murph! That's just awesome.
