I honestly think its more everyone on this board is bi polar. When we win we are the best, when we loose we Are the dead wings. Tbh some of you redwings fans are kinda embracing. (To Trade Datsyuk is an all time low)
I'm kinda ashamed to even come on here, read, post and to call you guys hockey fans.
I wouldn't really label the board as a whole in that category, but I do agree that calling for a Datsyuk trade is wayyy overboard. That's about as knee jerk as it gets.
Westgarth is useless. I keep hearing I want a Kocur, I want a Probert or a McCarty. All those guys were extremely effective. They didn't just go out there and start stuff. Kocur was one of the best defensive forwards in the league in his hay day. Probert could have scored 40 goals, McCarty played in every situation.
The point is you want an effective 4th line. We have a good start with Glendening as the center. Now get him some decent sized wingers. Penalty kill, energy, physical play, and great D. That's what your 4th line should be all about.
Good one lol
Good one lol
Mitchell Callahan would do nicely and throw Abdelkader on the other wing and you have an energy line that hits like the grind line of old.
If it makes anyone on here feel any better, the Jets just got 2 quick goals against the Preds to tie the game at 3 and then Weber got away with some usual gooning and the Jets are likely gonna take exception against him in the 3rd. I'd love to see Thorburn level him.
Back to the Wings game. These nights happen. Sometimes you get the bounces, sometimes they all go against you. You replace Andersson and Cleary with Dats and Z, and a few of those bounces may go our way. Watch next game we win 6-0 against the Caps and everyone gets their erection/lady wood back and we all rejoice together. Let's just stop the BS trade Dats talk. Save s*** talk like that for Penguins and Cansucks fans.
I would seriously considering seeing what Datsyuk could fetch on the trade market. It's getting to be time to move on from that era. Maybe trade to someone who's on the cusp of being a real contender like Colorado or another team not in the division. He's not a franchise player in other words he's not Yzerman or Lidstrom. I love him as much as the next guy but when's the last time he played a full season? C'mon it's time to move on
Pavel Datsyuk is one of the most special players ever to lace up a pair of skates. He can do things that make most guys wake up from their dream covered in Tatar sauce. To think the amount of people saying it's time to trade him when we are watching a game where we're missing Dats, Z, Mule, Weiss and Howard's also not playing and the kids have hit 3 or 4 posts is completely absurd. You don't trade a guy like Datsyuk, ever. He's loyal to the team and deserves to stay for his whole career just like Stevie Y and Lids, and just like Zetterberg will.
Why did it take Babs a 3-0 defecit to realize Andersson centering the top line was bad and Helm needed better wingers? Probably wouldn't matter much in the outcome, but Helm is the best center on the team right now and he has Cleary on his wing.
Babcock has a degree in sports ology and he's the best coach ever. Don't question his authoritahhhhhh!
No he's not. If he was, he'd be an elite d-man. He isn't, although he's better than Ericsson. He just gets compared to Lidstrom, either consciously or unconsciously, because we've gotten used to our #1 guy not getting caught very often.
This exactly. I couldn't name 10 Dmen in the league I'd take over Kronwall as our #1 guy. And with the likes of Ouellet, Sproul and Marchenko coming up in the next few to push guys for jobs, I'm not worried about our D.
Agreed. TBH, I just chose Tootoo because his name is the exact number of characters I needed to make all of the lines geometrically even.
Here's the real deal:
Henrik Zetterberg Pavel Datsyuk Tomas Jurco
Johan Franzen Stephen Weiss Gustav Nyquist
Tomas Tatar Riley Sheahan Daniel Alfredsson
Drew Miller Darren Helm Justin Abdelkader
Helm and Sheahan should be switched around, but I like the chemistry Tatar and Sheahan seem to have. And, really, Helm on the fourth line isn't such a bad thing, provided the third line is good enough to justify this. Also, it gives us a big body on each line (Jurco, Franzen, Sheahan, Abdelkader).
I really like those lines, but if it was any lines I could have with any Wings players, it would be almost the same, but:
I would keep that 3rd line together until they become our 1st line, and then still keep them together until they all retire! Trade Kindl to the Jets for Stuart and bench Quincey:
That team could win the Cup. I'm confident of that.
