#2268800 What do you guys have to say about Filpulla now?

Posted by Doggy on 10 March 2012 - 01:52 AM

He's good, but clearly not good enough to have his name spelt correctly. Which, in fairness, is no small request.

If you take a look at it, 4 out of 75 prospects is pretty solid really. Between 30 teams, 75 spots allows for 2.5 prospects per team on average, so the Wings are over-indexing. Considering Detroit's draft postitions over the last 5 years, that phenominal really.

Also, there was a lot of excitement over Pulkkinen some time ago, but seems to be none in this thread. Has he dropped off this season or what? Are people still hopeful with this guy or what?

#2245147 The ONE thing I can't stand about Wings games on FSD.....

.....besides Micky York/John Keating is the commercials. They are just....the worst. Spartan grocery stores, Miller Lite, all of those stupid dealership commercials. It seems like they show the same commercials on every break. It's like a nightmare for me.

F-U local sponsors.

You grumpy thing. Sounds like you need some "Good Mood Food".

I hope you're not seriously comparing these two.

ottawaghost is hilarious. Why did this get negged so bad?

Coz it was lame, dude.

Seriously, that wasn't funny at all. Particularly compared to some of his other ones.

#2230465 Bylsma Defends Crosby's Elbow on Foligno

Posted by Doggy on 27 November 2011 - 08:47 PM

I don't think I have ever had such a dislike for anyone as I do for Crosby. When I heard he was coming back, :ranting:my first thought was "great, now we're gonna have to see the NHL treat him with kid gloves"  Some disagree, and say that everyone won't treat him any differently.  After seeing this "scrum", I don't have a huge  problem with it. The problem I have is the people who are defending this cry-baby martyr and the whiny cocky hypocritical comments coming from his ugly pie hole.   It's only a matter of time before some player cracks and kicks this illiterate sob's ass, and that will be one sweet day.   :oStill, can't believe the hatred I have for the idiot. :!:

I don't think I've ever had such a dislike for another poster's choice of font.

Sorry, but it's true.

So awesome.  No doubt.

But he's the new Devils captain, you know?  That right there is an indication that he's in it for the long haul imo.

If Mike Richards can get traded, Zach Parise easily can.

Jack Edwards is just unbearable. I don't understand how he has a job. If I were a Boston fan I'd be embarrassed. Some of the things he says are just completely absurd.

there is more distance between Detroit and second place in the west now than there is between second place and 13th place

Detroit will need that gap during December. It's gonna be a tough month, I doubt we'll be able to maintain such figures.

#2063813 Bob MacKenzie

Posted by Doggy on 16 November 2010 - 06:43 PM

I don't think the OP got the idea of the article right at all.  McKenzie (not MacKenzie) is parodying himself and the rest of the media because they always feel like they are right, or know more - but in reality, they are just like the fans - they THINK they know better than the league executives, but really they don't.

McKenzie is a great analyst, probably the most respected by league executives and players alike.  Not to mention - he has a hard on for the Wings, and ALWAYS picks them to either make the finals or win the Cup.  He seems like the only one on TSN to ever give the Wings their proper due, and I respect him for that, among other things.

I don't even care about his thoughts on the Wings. What I love about him is his hockey knowledge across not only the NHL, but NCAA, CHL and AHL, is second to none. He's not too opinionated and doesn't critique teams like an ex-pro or something, but still seems to make better predictions than most ex-pro experts.

I agree, I think the OP mighta read the article hungover or something because he's just so far off-base it's not funny.

What a great article! Not his best, but a great article nonetheless.

Bob McKenzie is possibly the best and most humble hockey writer today. Not to mention his scoops are always 100% reliable.

#2062443 Crosby looking lethal

Posted by Doggy on 13 November 2010 - 06:50 AM

At 0:45, when the camera zooms closer to the net, the net moves before the puck makes contact.  Not only is it fake, but its not even faked well.

Reebok sucks, and Crosby is still a ******.

I think the puck was supposed to have hit the post and then the net, which is why it looks that way. Not suggesting it's real, but there was no mistake made there. It clearly hits the bar, the net moves, then hits the twine.
