Weber INTENTIONALLY slams Z's face into the boards/glass with the intention of injuring him. There is NO OTHER EXPLAINABLE REASON for doing what he did other than to injure him. BUT, Z was not injured. So therefore, no suspension.
I'm sure Weber was simply trying to show Hank just how clean the staff at Bridgestone Arena keeps the glass from a closer angle.
Come on Babs, you're the same guy that had the balls to pull Hasek for Osgood during a round 1 series. Don't tell me you can't do the same with a 50% Dan Cleary. Well, not pull him for Osgood but when I think about it, maybe even Osgood would be more effective than a 50% Cleary at this point.
$10/series win: round 1-3
$10/if series win is over the Sharks or Blackhawks
$2/every game with a PPG
$9/Gordie Howe Hat Trick (Limit of 1 but x2$ if from Franzen, x3$ from Hudler)
$50/winning The Cup
$12/if Cup winning goal scored by any of the following: Abdelkader, Cleary, Conner, Emmerton, Helm, Holmstrom, Miller, Mursak, Nyquist, Ericsson, Kindl, Quincey, Smith, or Stuart
$15/if Conn Smythe=Johan Franzen
$30/if Conn Smythe=Tomas Holmstrom
I think it'll happen either way. Here's why: As far as I know the 2012 summer UFA class is the best there's been in years. And I'm betting there won't be another great class like this in the next year or two, which means this summer is the only truly great chance we have to replace Lidstrom without losing anything other than money. Obviously a free agent signing is a better option than a trade, and Holland is going to make that push whether Lidstrom retires or not.
After all, Lidstrom's only going to be around for another year (maybe) and you still need him replaced. Better to do it now, enjoy one super-amazing year, and then already have his replacement locked in when he retires.
From everything I've seen & heard, most people are saying it's a weak FA class once you get past Suter & Parise. That's why I'm thinking the Wings get neither. You'll have a bunch of other teams willing to overpay them & kill their team's salary cap management in the process and that's not something Kenny's been willing to do in the past. Personally, I think Suter ends up back in Nashville after the team has a good playoff run this year & Parise ends up signing for big money somewhere not named Detroit.
How likely is it that we sign a college kid and call him right up? Just doesn't seem like the Red Wing way.
Pretty likely given they did the same thing w/ Abby the year he signed out of State. Granted that was at the end of the season & he started the next down in GR. I could easily see the same thing with DeKeyser. Get him some playing time with the big club by the end of the season if Western doesn't make it into/far into the NCAAs, keep him around as a Black Ace during the playoffs, & have him start off in GR the next season when Lids desides to come back for another run.

If the new CBA includes a reduction/restructuring of the cap, there more than likely would be a buyout process that teams would use to get under it so I don't think next year's cap will serve as a hindrance. Who knows, maybe Kenny would decide to buy out Franzen after trading for someone who will actually play like he gives a s*** for 82 games a season.
My own attempt is that he would say that "All those young players out there on the Blackhawks need to keep their active sticks on the ice, get the puck in deep & use their speed to the outside to go hard to the net." See, it's easy.
