I have never been so disappointed with Henrik Zetterberg. Without overreacting, he is honestly playing like a 4th line journeyman.

Cleary and Bertuzzi, in particular, have looked god awful. I'd like to see us get younger at the deadline as well as in the offseason.

These are all problems which could have been addressed in the offseason. Our secondary scoring has been inconsistent the last few seasons, and we have aging forwards like Bertuzzi and Homer who were only headed downhill. Likewise, Cleary, Hudler and Franzen are known to be streaky players. Holland did nothing about it, really. We have a few younger forwards like Nyquist, Brunnstrom and Mursak, but it doesn't seem like they're going to be top 6 forwards anytime soon. This is basically the same forward group we had the last few years, only older. No reason to think we're magically going to be more consistent in our secondary scoring.

Another year, another season, and another game with the Sharks. Yet, for me, this is clearly not just another game. There are three teams that I truly hate: the Sharks, the Penguins, and the s***hawks (do your best Jim Lahey impersonation here). Heck, these days, I hate the Sharks more than I do Avalanche. I did not think that was possible. I even bought a book to remind me, and help me reminisce, about our rivalry and my hatred for the Avs. Back to tonight. It does not hurt to remind oneself that Asian civilization and culture, at over six thousand years old, is among the oldest and wisest in the world. They eat sharks. The Euro-brethren core of our beloved team needs to learn and take inspiration in this fact. So, tonight, we butcher. Cooking optional. Hell, we don't even have to eat. Just win. Red Wing 'till I die.

Yeah, he's an RHS with good power and accuracy. And I can't imagine anyone doing worse than Hudler at this stage. The guy is horrendously indecisive and contributes nothing; he wastes time and chances with his constant hesitation and his refusal to commit to anything. I think the concern with Eaves is his passing game, which is nothing special. Stuart? Really? The guy hits the net with maybe 10% of his shots. He's very good on defense, and he's an OK passer, but he's average at best in the offensive zone. Preseason is preseason.

Calling it a night, long day, late game, lame Wings. Seriously, this is getting old, Wings playing disinterested, lazy, and when the break inevitably go against them, they show weak constitution and sulk. Howard is swimming out there and his skaters are asleep. Game started with the ref letting a lot of clutching and grabbing, but the Wings did this to themselves. Once again, the Wings didn't bother to show up. This team is feeling sorry for itself; it should be playing pissed off.

Time for bed, need my rest more than frustration tonight. I will still hope that when I wake up I see a win for us. Go Wings!!!

...so what do you propose to do with them? You can't waive them, they cannot retire because if they did, their salary would still count against the cap, you know you cannot trade them, ya, sit them, but then you are wasting their cap hit in the press box, plus your roster is full, so unless they go on LTIR you cannot sit them and play a youngster... so, like them or not, they are here for the reminder of their contract, and then, they will most likely be gone...

Looks like they gave him another assist last night so he's at 30p in 20gp. Also, he has 4g+5a=9p in 4gp since Huberdeau went out with an injury so it's pretty clear that his good start wasn't just a product of playing on a line with a top-3 pick.
