I need to start doing this. A week up here costs me like 2K after lodging, tickets, meals, souvenirs, etc.
Starting next year, I'll be LGWs official training camp reporter and make u all pay for it. Sound good?
Wait, I'm confused. What's concerning? Are we concerned about the title of this thread being incorrect/misleading? Because I think that's splitting hairs. Or are we concerned about the league being unhappy with the situation? If we're concerned about the league being unhappy...they can pound sand. They've never tried to bring the hammer down on an LTIRement case before and I can't imagine they'd break tradition for this one.
Or are we concerned that Zetterberg is actually straight-up retiring, rather than going into LTIRement? As far as I'm aware, he's going the LITRement path and no one in the organization or in the media has said otherwise.
Until they punish the Hawks for the hossa "allergy" they wont even come close to touching Zetterberg. He had a back surgery, missed half a season of practices and has ongoing back issues for years.
There's definitely offensive upside there, and I agree that the sky's the limit with this kid. The funny thing is, I never heard any of that "no elite upside" nonsense predraft. It's almost as if that narrative was created when he started to slip to justify why so many teams passed on him. It looks like Zadina will he a steal at 6, but Veleno will go down as the biggest steal in this draft in my opinion.
I'm actually surprised by the whole "no elite upside" narrative that I was hearing around draft time. He seems to have all the tools at his disposal and considering his age I feel like the sky's the limit.
He looks amazing. So f***ing smooth. I've said I think he has the potential to be almost as good as Larkin. I think he looks better (more polished) than Larkin did at the same age. I'll leave it at that...
They're playing two 25 minute periods. First 20 minutes of the first was 5-on-5, last 5 minutes was 3-on-3. Penalties called were penalty shots (Helm and Turgeon) rather than power-plays. I'd rather see two minute penalties called. Work on special teams...
Veleno and Cholowski continue to impress.
Can I tell you all about this time me and my friend Joel drove from Kalamazoo to Muskegon in a blizzard to watch a silly K-Wings game? Like, couldn't see but a few feet in front of the car. At points, complete white out. We got there about mid-way through the 1st period. They then proceeded to get trounced 6-0. ...but the K-Wings won all the fights, so it was all good. You know, just regular "being a wuss" stuff.
