Any word on who's in net tonight? I hope it's Joey or it could be a long night.

Was there ever really a doubt that he would. Though some were heralding the demise of Henrik Zetterberg, in the not too distant past (one season ago) there was a guy who scored 80 pts. and was top ten or fifteen in the league in scoring. But have one slow season and the past is forgotten and all the "fans" hold you over the fire. Good on Zetterberg, but again, was there ever really a doubt?

St. Louis has just finished a long 6 game road trip (5 out west) and won FIVE of them. Needless to say the Blues are hot and playing very well on the road. First time since February 2009 that they had won 4 in a row on the road.
The Wings are not playing well on the road and they have 8 games left on the road. Blues have 9 games left on the road. Who has the advantage now?
So for those who thought the Wings were going to win the division because their schedule is easier..... think again. IMHO, the Blues have the advantage simply because Detroit is hurting and still have not corrected the problems on the road.
Detroit's season is over, IMHO, if they don't win the division. The Wings' trip out West coming up next week may be the turning point.... one way or the other... although the game against the Blues in St. Louis on April 4th will probably determine who wins the divsion and each team has won outright their home games against each other this year.

He said the defense was better without Ericsson. Lidstrom has been out both of those games as well.
But I guess this isn't just more baseless Ericsson bashing and you can somehow determine that the defense actually looks better overall specifically because of Ericsson's absence and not Lidstrom's?
It used to be that Kindl>Ericsson, which was wrong. Ericsson clearly outplayed Kindl, who couldn't hold his spot in the lineup over Commie. When that became obvious, you guys shifted to complaining about Ericsson's contract. Now that he's out of the lineup, somehow you can tell the defense is better specifically because of his absence.
You guys hate him. That's fine. Certain players are just going to get bashed. But it's not about what's actually happening on the ice, it's silly to pretend otherwise.
As for Smith, I'm glad he's finally getting some playing time. I know it's probably for the best, but Holland's "overly ripe"philosophy can be frustrating. I can't wait until this kids a regular in the lineup.

Lidstrom's steady, intelligent play is missed. Ericsson's boneheadedness is not.

Wideman's is pretty amazing. He didn't just fall down, he managed to knock himself off his feet somehow. It's as if he got checked by a ghost or something.

It's all part of their training. They really enjoy it too.

He even dives in shootouts!

Ericsson is better than both Janik and Kindl. I agree with what this guy said about E:
Quincey is a nice addition though he makes Kindl even more expendable.

Daniels is a stud. Great announcer and congrats to him on game 1000. : )

I am just glad that Joey is getting some starts. A goalie can get stale on the bench, and I was nervous that Jimmy was going to get all the starts again while Joey rode the pine. Not the case. Babcock has faith in this veteran. Joey has been impressive and deserved to get the backup spot.
Also good to see the Wings PP do well, as well as the stars step up. Even if it was against Columbus, no team should be taken lightly.

Another great performance out of Joey Mac. Wanna give a shout out to my boy "No Panic" Janik, a +2 with 2 blocked shots and no giveaways in 18 minutes of ice time

These things do matter in the playoffs, I agree.
But had hudler and bertuzzi played awesome tonight, you likely would've said it didn't matter because the blue jackets are so crappy.
The Wings definitely have issues to work out if they want to get past the second round of the playoffs this season. But if they can win games while they work out those issues, awesome.

Hoping Quincey and Lids get back for the next game. Huds on the point is just a nightmare as we found out tonight.

I am pretty sick of reading displeasure over Franzen. He obviously isn't playing up to his potential but no team is perfect and every team has under performing players. Would you rather him be hurt? Because I don't think he is going anywhere this season at least. I'm just glad he is healthy and hopefully will be for the playoffs because at the very least he commands attention from the other team on the ice and can free up space. This years current team is better with him versus without him and having someone from GR up.

Holland's running out of time and if the season ticket holders have any say in the matter, he might be running out of "The Joe". GM's are expendable, too. So are coaches. Babcock isn't the best motivator and obviously no Scotty Bowman. Yet another loss due to lack of depth. Too many marginal players at both ends. Certainly not a Stanley Cup contender with the current roster. Changes have to be made. Possibly "upstairs" as well as "downstairs. Holland might need the next 48 hours to keep his job. Not surprising that they lost to another mediocre team. Home or away. Doesn't seem to matter.

My rational for the loss to Anaheim is that it comes on the heels of a back to back with LA so I would imagine they drop 1 and win the other and I don't trust the Wings in the Shark tank so I'll chalk that up as a loss. Also I do realize the Wings will win some of the games that I slated as losses but they will also lose some that I put as wins so it will most likely even itself out and they finish 14-8 or 15-7 at best. Just hope some OT losses help them out b/c like I said before Vancouver has an easier schedule.

MAC-SANITY is absolutly right!!!!! He's as big as a MAC truck in that net. I bet all his countrymen are proud of the job he is doing. Joey has been outstanding and if he keeps playing this way Howard better step his game up.

Hi guys so what do you think will be the Wings W-L record in their final 22 games? I have them losing atleast 8 games but not sure how many if any of the 8 they get a point in so lets say they go 14-8 which is ok but not sure if thats good enough to get the top spot as the Canucks have an easier schedule and thus the Wings may need to go on a serious run to fend off the Canucks and this year the top spot in the conference is more important than ever b/c of the home ice factor at the Joe.
