Finnish Wing reacted to mmamolo in Ville Leino
Some of the posts in this thread so far sound like sour grapes to me but hey, maybe I'm misinterpreting. Obviously I wanted to see Leino succeed here in Detroit. The guy seemed like he had a tough time adjusting to life in Detroit which is unfortunate and maybe he just wasnt mature enough and needed the kick in the ass the Wings gave him by moving him out of town. We'll never know. I legitimately thought he had the skill set to be a solid NHLer and he seems to be proving it right now but it's still early.

Finnish Wing reacted to stevkrause in Paging Finnish Wing, Paging Finnish Wing
May I have mine with some BBQ sauce please?
12GP, 2G, 8A, 10PTS +4 and skating harder than he EVER did here...
I still agree with Holland's choice and don't think he ever would have been that player here with our system or lack of minutes to spare, but he has proven me wrong about not being a legit NHL'er and as a man of my word, I will honorably admit when I'm wrong...
I wish Ville nothing but success, he has really found a niche there in Philly and is playing well for them!

Finnish Wing reacted to Carman in Pavel Datsyuk has a Gordie Howe Hattrick
Not as important as winning the game.
What did having an enforcer do for the Ducks tonight exactly?
I don't want Datsyuk getting in 10 fights a year, but one here or there isn't the end of the world. Especially when it's not against a veteran fighter.
I'm pretty sure I have played hockey at a fairly high level. I understand fighting, but right now in the NHL it's not a benefit to have an enforcer that can't enforce due to have the instigator rule.
There's not a NHL player worth his salt that is intimated of another player's fist. Do you think Matt Cooke is going to think twice if he has a clean shot on Lidstrom? Really?
Having an enforcer in the line-up just has a pure reactionary effect on the game in my opinion, something that is not the valuable right now in today's game.

Finnish Wing got a reaction from Original-Six in Power Forwards
LOL. Why would PIMs have anything to do with being a power forward? Power forward is a player who plays physically to create offense. PIMs are only evidence of taking penalties; you get penalties when you're too slow and need to hook for example. Fights are not needed either. Zetterberg isn't a power forward. Nash is. Nash mostly uses his size and physical game to create offense. Zetterberg is more of a skill-guy. I wouldn't call Steve Downie a power forward though, yet. You still need to be able to get more than 50 points at least in this league to be called one.

Finnish Wing reacted to Doc Holliday in Hitting and Winning
Normally when a team leads a game in hits it means that they don't have the puck as much as the other guy.
Either way, I'm not going to use this study to make a broad statement about how the team should be structured.

Finnish Wing reacted to Z and D for the C in Wings sign Ilari Filppula 1yr/$500k
He hit the nail on the head there. Filppula is as good as his confidence will take him. That goal he scored from the outside of the circles last year against the coyotes last year is a perfect example of that.

Finnish Wing reacted to LeftWinger in Wings sign Ruslan Salei
Well, he's worn #24 his entire NHL career, he damn sure better not get it in Detroit!!!

Finnish Wing got a reaction from Dominator2005 in Willie Mitchell
As said already. We dont have to pair Kindl and Ericsson together.Lidstrom-Kronwall
Ericsson-Rafalski
Stuart-Kindl
Lidstrom-Ericsson
Stuart-Rafalski
Kronwall-Kindl
Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Kindl
Stuart-Ericsson
etc. etc. etc.
There are numerous options.

And Kindl - one of our top prospects - would sit on the press box. YAYY! Talk about being shortsighted. -

Finnish Wing reacted to Bring Back The Bruise Bros in Who's going to replace Lidstrom for next season
Kevin Bieksa would be a solid pickup for Detroit. Is this Rafalski's last year of his contract too?

Finnish Wing reacted in Who's going to replace Lidstrom for next season
It's summer and boredom is killing us all, i was just thinking on who's gonna replace lidstrom when he retires, he will free up alot of space.. i can only think of a few worthy young replacements, they can't just hope ericsson will become a superstar all of a sudden, what's the Free agent class for next summer?
-Weber
-Doughty
Both are RFA though and Nashville even though they're a poor club will probably match anyway, but what if detroit offers him a 10year deal 8million early on and a caphit of 6.8 or something... Doughty will probably get a massive deal too...

Finnish Wing reacted to Johnny Diamonds in Trade Idea with the Ducks
Whatever smartass. For a 26 year old he has a pretty good body of work. If Stuart was as "awesome" as some of you think he is, he wouldn't have been a vagabond traded by 4 teams before he ended up here.

Finnish Wing reacted to Johnny Diamonds in Trade Idea with the Ducks
Marchant like I said kills penalties adds more speed to the team and he can win faceoffs. What's wrong with having another guy like that if say Modano doesn't sign here?
Let me know the next time Stuart goes out and does this to a guy who was smashing our team all over the ice.

Finnish Wing reacted to Broken 16 in Brett Lebda signs with Toronto
Just like "lol @ Leino doing anything for the Flyers in the playoffs" probably.

LOL at Bowman.

Finnish Wing reacted in Eaves signs 1 year deal
The term "in the eye of the beholder" has no meaning to newfy. In his eyes, his opinion is right and yours is wrong. Maybe the lack of ambiguity such creates for him makes him feel more safe.
Dunno.
