With the amount lines have changed this season the best indicator is TOI. Abdelkader is 6th, Cleary 7th with a difference of 30 seconds/game between them. That speaks for itself.
Bertuzzi is 3rd in goals hence my reasoning for saying he should still have a prominent role in the bottom 6 with PP time. It's the other aspects of his game that are suspect. Hence his benching last game for poor defensive coverage.
So 2-3 out of the 10 guys I listed are not known as scorers. That still leaves 7 great scoring forwards. lol It's embarassing comparing our top 9 with that. Especially considering most of their guys are drafted and developed as well.

Pretty sure he was just listing the whole top nine, because his point sort of calls for it. And he's right - they're very deep up front. And their blue line is pretty solid. They're a team that's built to win the Cup. No significant holes.
Our top nine could potentially be among the best in the league, if things come together the right way and a few planets align and the Hockey Gods shine upon us.

As of right now we're far too close to the cap to consider it. The savings we would get from his over-35 contract would be minimal and barely enough to even have somebody replace him on the roster.

People are dreaming if they think Sammy is going anywhere. He's 37 soon and more than likely in his last year with a no-trade clause.
If you were Sammy would you rather....contend for the cup one last time with a playoff team and make a run with a bunch of fellow countrymen...or...Accept to got to the worst team in the league...

For a lot of people, probably most, sports is a release from "day to day" life. It doesn't had to the stress. It's entertainment lol

He failed to move up the depth chart because he failed to provide offence on a consistent basis.

That's doubtful. Ouellet played the least last night out of all the defencemen. He will be better served playing top minutes in GR.

When you listen to Shanny's explanation, you could almost swap it out for Mcleod's hit on Kronwall.
The only real difference is that Lapierre was suspended before for a similar hit. If the league wants to be consistent at all (I know, I know), it seems like Mcleod will get fewer games. I'd guess three.

There is no way a team would pick up Sammy off waivers. I don't see any likely scenario where that would happen. Wishful thinking.

Sure, that's a definite possibility. And perhaps Buffalo is a long shot in that regard. But Sammy has a history with Florida, had a moderate degree of success with them, and every young team needs veterans around the locker room. An example would be Vinny Prospal with Columbus. He was a guy at the tail end of his career who was a successful contributor on a young team and really helped in the leadership department.
Again, I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it's not out of the ballpark either.
