timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I didn't say Michigan should have been in OVER MSU. But how does Winthrop (RPI 70) beat Michigan for the 11th seed in the Midwest? How does Gonzaga (RPI 61) beat Michigan for the 10th seed in the West? How does George Washington (RPI 71) beat Michigan for the 11th seed in the East? How does Stanford (RPI 63) beat Michigan for 11th seed in the South? Michigan had a comparable record to all of those teams, often better. It had a better RPI. Why do those teams make the tourney, yet Michigan is not even on the list of 30-some other 'considered' teams? People talk about Syracuse getting snubbed. Syracuse had a similar RPI to Michigan, and a similar record. How is Syracuse a 'huge snub' while Michigan, a comparable team, doesn't even get considered? Since Blak beat me to the comments on the conference winners, I will comment on Sryacuse. The ORANGE biggest point they have in not getting in the tournament is that they were 10-6 in a very tough Big East conference. They also beat Georgetown, Villanova and Marquette..3 tournament teams. The thing that bugs me about people that think Michigan should be in the tournament is that the Wolverines blew their chances. 3 losses to Ohio State, a loss to Wisconsin, a loss to UCLA, a loss to Georgetown, a loss to Purdue, a loss to Indiana, a loss to Illinois and a loss to Michigan State. Thats 10 losses right there against tournament teams. Michigan wins 2 of those games and they are in.
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Michigan should not be in the tournament...everyone but Eva (including other Michigan fans) knows that. What else do you expect from the ultimate excuse maker?
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 No way in hell U-M should be in the tourny. If they would have beat OSU their 2nd game I would say yes, but they didn't. They beat 6 tourny teams, but none I would consider great like OSU or Wisconson.

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 since we are an hour away from the dance, here are my predictions. MSU loses to Marquette tonight. (being realistic here) George Washington, Nevada, Duke and Xavier are spoilers in making it into the sweet 16. Final Four is Florida, UCLA, Georgetown, and Texas A&M. Florida defeats Georgetown for the title. Heard it from me first. Now watch Jackson State beat Florida today..lol.

I was about to pick Duke going far, but changed it last second. I wouldn't doubt it happening though. My final four is Oregon, UCLA, Georgtown, and Texas AM. I think FLA is the best team in the tourny, but history shows its almost impossible to repeat so I got Oregon upsetting them. What No. 1 seed do you think will exit first? I'm chosing OSU, but I could see Kansas doing their early choke like the past few years.

Losing in 2nd round to Xavier. I think FLA is the best team in the tourny, but history shows its almost impossible to repeat so I got Oregon upsetting them. I picked Oregon in the elite eight but I was tempted to pick them over Florida. Florida to me has the complete package. They have the experience and leadership to win. Hard to pick against them in this field. I am intrigued by Georgetown tho. Easily they were the best team down the stretch and if they can carry that in the tournament...LOOK OUT!! mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I got G-town winning it all. You're right they are the hot team, and got size with solid shooters
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 My CBS station is showing the Duke/VCU game Could be worse. The Davidson-Maryland game and the Texas Tech-BC seem pretty close, but b/c I live in the Louisville area I'm stuck watching a 25+ point blowout.

auxlepli 17 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 LOL ORU ... LOL In the afternoon games I picked 6 of 8 correctly - Texas Tech and George Washington let me down. I just hope I can keep at least the same percentage in the night games.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 First batch of games, I only missed Louisville - figured Stanford would get the upset. Figured wrong. But I picked Marquette and VCU for this evening, and right now both are trailing. Good thing I didn't pick either to go very far.
