TKACHUK or GUERIN ?

I heard that Guiren wanted to stay in STL because of family and what not and doesn't he have a contract that lets him decided if he wants to get traded.

what kind of contract lets you decide if you get traded? I believe you're thinking of a no-trade clause, in which case Tkachuk is the one who has it, not Guerin. And Guerin doesnt have to stay in Detroit. He can easily re-sign with the Blues in the off-season.

I know what a no trade clause is but what the Blues did when they signed him was allowed him to make the final dicesion on whether he wants to be traded. Yes he can quickly re-sign but meh.

Tkachuk is too slow NHL-player fitting better in the old NHL-rules with clutching and crapping scrap.

I'd prefer Guerin. He is speedy, gritty, nice-shot-having-RW what we lack, not fat-ass-LW like Tkachuk.

again, I have to ask, have there been reports of Tkachuk being overweight other than showin up for training camp that way a year and a half ago?

no problem. we visit them like 4 times a season thanks to Betman splendid

economical visions, so Guerin will have a chance to see his family.

I'm for Guerin here as priorityy. no to Bertuzzi, but aye for Tkachuk.

Mayers sounds cool, too.

am i the only one who thinks adding Bertuzzi is insane???? Excluding the fact that hes a washed up dirty player, hes been hurt nearly the entire season. just seems to risky for not much reward

The more I think about it, the less I want him on the team. He's indeed a risk. Especially since he's only played about a week of games this season. I believe he was suppose to be back within a week or so, but now thats being delayed till another 20 or so days. Definitely a risk I don't want the Wings to take. Plus, he'll be very rusty and would take awhile for him to get back to his dominating ways.

If we get guerin, we still would have to get someone to watch over everyone's backs. If we could trade for guerin and mayers, that would be ideal. Tkachuk is also a decent option, but i honestly see guerin as a better fit for this team.

Folks...Blues will not trade to West and esp in the same division.

Like the B-hawks would never trade a defenseman of Norris calibre (nominated again while with the Wings) to a division rival???

When you are not in the playoffs and the players you are shipping off are UFAs, you take the best deal and ride on what you earned. If the WIngs offer the best deal for Guerin, he will come to Detroit.

That means nothing when one is a non playoff team.

I still have a feeling Davidson wont trade to Illitch...hope im wrong but that little grudge may linger. I certainly wouldnt doubt it, and its not like the Wings will be throwing a great offer out there.

Don't forget, both Tkachuk and Guerin were included in Chelios' lawsuit against the NHLPA earlier this year. I doubt either one of them would like to be in the same room as Chelios. It could be down to Bert, Mayers or no one at all.

How tired and uninformed is this statement? It's quickly climbing up my "pet peeve" list.

Conference/Divisional alliances DO NOT MATTER in terms of trade deadline rental activity.

Did you already forget about the Chris Chelios deal in 1999? And that wasn't even a rental!

How about the Leopold/Tanguay deal from the draft? Or the Theo Fleury deal before that? Colorado and Calgary certainly don't seem to mind.

How about the Nagy deal between Dallas and Phoenix this week? <_<

You mean the same two guys that have played and shared a lockerroom with Chelios in the Olympics? Granted, this was prior to Chelios war march on Saskin's annointment, but I have a hard time believing that the "lawsuit" Chelios has filed would be a deal-breaker.

If it is, then Tkachuk and Guerin would need to be fitted with diapers and new sets of pacifiers -- and I don't believe that's the case.

I'm pining for both of them. that would be pretty damn sweet. And someone near the top of this thread said Keith Tk was a big *******. That's what I'm talkin' about, baby!!! Bring him into the fold, Kenny!
