Shanahan Leveled

Flyers have been running the NYR all game. Shanahan is out cold on the ice.

To be fair..this incident was accidental.

Quick update: A Flyer and Shanahan collided mid-ice. Brenden's head bounced off the ice as the helmet slipped down over his forehead. He's being taken out on a stretcher.

That was a pretty brutal collision. He collided with Knuble, neither guy saw the other one, and Shanny looked like he hit the back of his head on the ice. Knuble was injured as well, looked like a leg or lower back injury (their saying his face is swollen too), and had to be helped off the ice and has not returned.

Shanny was out cold though. When the trainers and medical staff came on the ice, he was asleep, and remained that way for a couple of minutes. Pretty scary.

The Flyers have really played physical, the Knuble-Shanahan incident was accidental, but Jagr took two of the bigger hits I've ever seen him take from Fedoruk first, then Hatcher.

The Flyers have been insanely physical...and having Shanahan and/or Avery out there has done absolutely nothing to deter it from happening.

They are saying Knuble is probably going to the hospital as well. One of his eyes is swollen shut? Wow.

Hopefully he's going to be fine too.

What a freak accident.

BTW, aside from the incident because I know it was accidental, but the Flyers are a bunch of f-ing *******. They are pieces of s*** and someone or some team needs to really mess em up. It's one thing to be physical, it's another to be a bunch of goons trying to take players out just because their sorry asses aren't going anywhere this season.

Aaron Ward just handled himself pretty well in a scrap with Picard (although now they're saying he hurt his hand in the fight). This game has the potential to really get out of hand....unfortunately the Rangers don't have many players left capable of handling the rough stuff (Hollweg, Orr, and Avery that's it)

Edit:

Sweet goal by Cullen, made Hatcher look ridiculous

Hope he's able to get back ASAP.

Aaron Ward was also injured in a fight, Malick was injured from a hit and Lundquist was injured from a hit from Sanderson. The Rangers season is officially over.

If you're attempting to make a point that having enforcers doesnt stop anything...this is not a good example. It actually fuels the opposite argument since Colton Orr is scratched and Fedoruk is running roughshot with no one to fight him.
