Sorry guys but I doubt Schneider is going anywhere. Who would you rather seeing playing point on the PP? Schneider, Williams or Kronwall?

Lidstrom can't play every minute and Schneider is the only one I really trust back there.

True he didn't look great coming back from the injury but I think he's back to game speed.

Guerin to Detroit has turned into an E4! Omgness. Haha

Now I don't know if that means INTEREST wise or actually that a deal is nearly done? He's pretty much confused me.

Like it or not, we have invested in Kronwall. So, I can see Barnes' argument to allow Kronwall to step up and take more ice time. Kronwall has been scouted as an offensive-defenseman. Add to it that we all know he has a bit of a propensity for injuries, and I think the recipe is placing Kronner with a physical, stay-at-home defenseman. Let Kronwall lead the break-out, and let him know that knocking bodies isn't his #1 priority. You give a kid with that much talent (1) responsibility, and (2) clear, attainable goals, and then you can judge whether or not he's got it.

This is what I like to hear.........Options.

Insert *Pull The Trigger, Kenny* below.

I just read that Pittsburg has put Ryan Malone on the trading block and in return they're for a d-man.How that in my eyes is amatch made in heaven.(6' 4" 225lbs. 12 g 9a 21points; but he's been getting over 40 points a season and he's got two years left on his contract).

And Ryan Smyth down to e3....the trade deadline make us all a little crazy.

Just for you Turretin...COME ON KENNY! GET IT DONE! *insert other obnoxious cliche LGW phrases*

You could easily have said "Pull the trigger, Kenny" or "Lang is lazy and he sucks."

''I have a better sense of the market now as I head home,'' said Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland. ''The prices remain too high. Whether or not we'll be willing to pay that price next Tuesday at the deadline remains to be seen.''

An update from TSN (source: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=197041&hubname=nhl).

Smart. Good negotiating tactics by Holland.

Like Barnes 52 said a few days ago though, Guerin could have been had for very little this past season. A couple million dollars.

Now he might cost a first round pick and a decent prospect.

I don't know why Holland continues to wait until the deadline to fill gaps in the roster that are obvious even before the preseason starts. Why the hell does he wait until February when the bidding war begins to address this team's needs?

Anyway.

Guerin was cheap, but it remained to be seen if he could put up more than 13 goals. After all, if a guy of his caliber couldn't put up more than that on a team like Dallas, how would anyone have thought he could put up 30 for St Louis???? This was a smart non-move on Holland's part in the off-season, sure it looks different now, but no one saw that coming. I honestly don't think Guerin would be as good with us, i'm wary because he wasn't good with Dallas, this season could just be a fluke. I'd rather take Tkachuk at this point. Besides this season, Tkachuk is typically on a point-per-game average.

Not signing Guerin was a smart move?! A good GM knows there are risks but also rewards in situations like this. It's true that nobody knows how Guerin would fare in Detroit, but calling not signing Guerin, a smart move by Holland is ridiculous! Especially when said GM is supposedly showing interest in Guerin now, when the price is much much steeper.

All these things are true. Also, ignoring point totals, Guerin had the coveted size and speed that Detroit needed and were supposedly looking for in the offseason.

I remember many members of LGW.com wishing Holland had signed him this summer when he was available.

Right, and the original comment was more about Holland not addressing the team's needs in general when necessary, than it was about the decision not to get Guerin. The Guerin situation is just an example of it. Just think, signing Nolan before the season started might've been enough all this time and we wouldn't even be looking for a tough scoring winger right now.

Anyway...

I think your comment about Schneider and Kronwall is somewhat unrealistic. Kronwall has shown no signs that he will develop into one of the offensive defensemen in the league next year. He is not yet of Schneider's mold in that area--not even close. I'm sorry to say it, but he at the moment he also makes just as many mistakes as Schneider does. How, indeed, could Kronwall "easily" replace Schneider then?

Also, do not forget that Schneider IS one of our hitters right now, though that might not be saying much.

Couldn't agree with you more. I don't why all you Schneider haters wanna get rid of him for a guy that doesn't seem like he wants to step up his game. Krownwall WAS suppose to be a great offensive talent, but 1 goal in 50 games.... come on. Last time I checked, since Krownwall was back from his groun injury in mid december, he hasn't don't jack.

That is why I was so confused! lol

It means that 2 people directly involved (let's say Andy Murray and Ken Holland) have both told Eklund that a deal might be happening.

This is the case for all of the teams listed as e4.
